The sports and activities were good, there is a big playground. Campus was good.
Since it was a women's College, safety was maintained wonderfully, no other student college was allowed in the campus.
Dislikes
The food in canteen, lesser options were given.
The library system, one had to book online seat
Internships Opportunities:
Shri shikshayatan college offers internships with media houses like The telegraph, ABP Ananda and Times of India. Roles include reporting, editing and social media often with a stipend and projects range from news coverage to content creation.
College provides diverse cultural clubs and societies which enrich students.
College has very well maintained campus and bathrooms.
College has able faculty who impart knowledge effectively.
Dislikes
There is high groupism among club mates. Outsiders find hard to get in or make their place
Everytime there is a college programme if sponsors are not available students are to chip in money.
Classes are regularly cancelled and professors are not there half of the time.
Placement Experience:
From semester 7 students become eligible for campus placements. Many companies visit like TCS, Mirchi Bangla, ABP Ananda, Zee 24 Ghanta many such companies come. Many new entrepreneurship ventures come too. College has an active placement cell. New companies come every year. Most of the students almost 60 percent eligible people get placed.
I plan to go into public relations or advertising after this degree.
Our college facilitates participation of students in co-curricular activities.
Shikshayatan looks after the interests of the students like proper maintenance of labs and other amenities.
Very particular about classes, which are really interactive specially in JMC department.
Dislikes
Since this is a girls college, I feel that the podium of interaction gets limited sometimes.
The college faculty must look into organising an annual fest once a year which has been stopped since COVID.
Sometimes getting permission for occupying yoga room for practices becomes a headache.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I'd rate my curriculum 7/10 because honestly, I believe that a bit more of practical training must be included and taught in reference to the subjects, which would prove to be useful to us in some way or the other when we are out of college.
Firstly, it is one of the best colleges under the affiliation of University of Calcutta with very good faculty in my course.
The infrastructure is very comfortable and the ambience is very calm and soothing with very helpful professors and HOD s which really helps to excel
Dislikes
There is not college fest or annual fests held in this institute.
The food in the canteen is kinda overpriced compared to its taste.
Since its an all-girls institute, the exposure to socialization is not that happening.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is well enough except for the scheduling of semester exams. Most of the times it gets postponed which kinda puts the candidates in a very uncertain stage. The amount of theoretical and practical exposure in the course is very well balanced along with vast opportunities of internships.
College popularity is often preferred among students. Popularity here implies to be in a good way.
Strictness is another aspect that I want to draw your attention and Shri Shikshayatan College is known for this.
Teachers of this institution are much cooler and friendly around students as well as disciplined any sort of misbehave is not tolerated.
Dislikes
Staffs are not extremely rude and uncultured and often would put the students in uncomfortable situations.
Placements are really bad for the entire BA department.Actually Shri Shikshayatan College is known for B.Com or BBA de
The college does not have a proper area for students to sit although in their website
Course Curriculum Overview:
From the beginning I was drawn towards studying something unique and effective in towards world. I am not disrespecting other subjects just I wanted to write and make the world aware of the darkness that surrounds the other side of the world that all people will eventually ignores. Journalism and Mass communication is a broad and beautiful subject ,as it consists of many aspects as radio television advertising Pr sectors and many more
The social life here is good. Friends are encouraging.
The equation with teachers. They are quite supportive and active.
Mac labs. Practical classes are well structured and conducted well on time.
Dislikes
Campus too small. We share it with the school students.
No fests or events are conducted in the campus.
No placement cell and availability of veg food only.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I have chosen the courseout of ultimate passion for films and media.
The faculty-student ration is quite appropriate. It varies from department to department. We have 3 teachers in our department.
The faculty members are well qualified, they are post-graduated and some are even doing research.
Exams were always on time with prior notice. Difficulty level is moderate.
We lacked practical classes because of COVID but the faculty is good and helpful.
Total 42 students are there in our batch
Exams were delayed because of Covid 19
All the professors have MA degree
The course curriculum of Shri Shikshayatan college is one of the best that is offered in the City. The course curriculum includes practical and in-hand work experience that is given by the professors themselves.
EWC, Deloitte, EY etc offer placement. The highest package is around Rs 11 LPA and the average package is Rs 3 LPA. 70% students get placement during campus interview. Apart from the return on the investment, the placement also plays pivotal role for the students.
