The best in kolkata for commerce!

Likes

Faculty is pretty experienced and always ready to help students.
Extremely low fees. Within 4k you get graduated from a reputed college.

Dislikes

Campus is very small. Lack of playground.
Canteen is abandoned since lockdown. Students need to go out.
Method of teaching may be modernised.Sometimes classes become boring

Goenka is one of the best colleges for commerce. I am a B. Com(Hons) student at this prestigious college. The faculty Is Pretty Experienced And Always Ready to Help Students The difficulty level of exams is quite high.

The dream college I thought about in class 11.

Likes

Atmosphere is great with no disturbance. Teachers are very helpful and cooperative.
One of the best college for pursuing bcom honours.
The seniors are like friends who helps you a lot to deal the college life.

Dislikes

No personal ground for games to play, Annual sports doesn't occur.
Students get bored in class as the syllabus is having theory chapters.
The placement cell need to improve to provide atleast 40 percent placement to students.

Placement Experience:

After the 5th-semester students are applicable for placements. Companies like TCS, Tata, Wipro, and other new companies offer placements. 10 lakhs per annum is the highest and the average package is 5 lakhs per annum. 20 percent of students get placements. I will pursue MBA after graduation.

Overall review of Goenka College of Commerce & B.A.

Likes

College friends they are very friendly and social.
College Fest and other college events which occur inside the campus.
Street food outside college campus, varieties of food are available.

Dislikes

Infrastructure, small rooms to study and fans don’t work properly.
Few teachers doesn’t teach properly, they come and speak on their own and go.

Placement Experience:

Placements are offered from the 6th semester and this year no placements were there. 20% of students get placements from college and other students didn't get any placements. My plan is to do MBA from a good business school.

Life at Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration, Kolkata.

Likes

The B.Com. Honours course at goenka college of commerce and business administration is very affordable.
The course curriculum is not very tough. It is good for students who are pursuing any other professional course or preparing for some entrance exams.

Dislikes

The campus life is not so great. It is not for the people who completely want to enjoy 3 years of their college life.
People who are not comfortable with bengali language will face some issue in understanding things.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course consists of 6 semesters. Initial semesters are easier to pass. The difficulty level increases per semester. Faculties are nice but there can be language problem sometimes for the people who are not familiar with bengali language. 70-80% of the students are bengali, so faculties also teach in bengali sometimes and that can be a issue for some students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I was interested in this. The faculty students ratio was 1:20. Faculties were highly qualified most of them were Ph.D. holders. The term exam was for 6 months and they were easy. The average student can easily crack.

I love the infrastructure facilities in it
Fans and wifi connection are available for needy
Smart Monitor is there for the smart study

Dislikes

There is no space in Library to sit and study
All peoples dont get chance to play the sports
They don't inform about the activities only union friends know it

The education facilities are way better in our college in comparison to other government colleges
The students here are all sincere and punctual
There is no seniority in our college everyone treated as equally

Dislikes

Strict maintenance of 75% attendance are compulsory in our college
We don't have any canteen facilities in our college
Library facility in our college is very confusing

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course to specialize in accounts and finance. There above 2000, students are in our college and a 6:4 ratio of boys and girls in faculty. The professors are highly qualified in our college. Every 6 months there is a semester exam which is very tough to pass.

The best commerce college of Eastern India

Their is not attendance problem and fees is also less.

Dislikes

Their is no social life and you might not come if you are a social person.

Placement Experience:

There are very limited placements available but the big 4 companies come for the placements in the college. But only those are able to get the placements who have already cleared 2 groups of CA or any other professional courses.

Likes

I think the professors here are quite experienced and helpful.
The admission process is very easy since no entrance test is conducted.
The fees of the college was very minimal and affordable.

Dislikes

The exams of this University are quite tough.

Placement Experience:

The placements are for the final semester students and take place just before their final exams. Some of the big 4 companies like Deloitte visit the college for placement. The highest package of the college was 18.5 LPA and the average is around 8 LPA. Very Few percentage of the crowd gets placement here. You need to have a very good academic record. I think I'll try for placement.

Friends: You will get an ample amount of good friends in this college
Common room to chit chat and make new friends among seniors and juniors
Library with an ample amount of different books in it.

Dislikes

Campus is way too small and doesnt provide any sports ground
There is no canteen in this college premises.
There is no gym to make the students fit

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had opted for Bcom Honours in Accounting and Finance from this college. The teachers are good but a Lit bit aged. There are approx 90 students in compared to 1 teacher in this college. The qualification of the teachers is quite good. Term exams were held within 4-5 months.
