Teacher are so good. they behave very well. they support all time
Yes, they provide scholarship fees, the job opportunities are also good and placements are also good.
Amazing campus and social life. sports culture is one of the best in this college and also the main thing that is placements are the main attraction point of this college

Dislikes

The hostels facility is not so good. the bathrooms are not so clean and there are hygiene issues. the food in the mess is not that much healthy.
The things i disliked about my college is the teachers. sometimes the teachers teaches us in bengali language which is not understand by all the students
The infrastructure of the class is not prominent. we have to ware college uniforms everyday. the projectors are broken in the class. there are broken benches in the class.

The teachers are too much friendly to uss
They can easily make us understand all the syllabus
The classmate I have they are really god gifted

Dislikes

The huge syllabus of our college and huge books
Some of my classmate hate me a lot this thing all I don't like
When the topic comes about the sports the ignored

Yes I think the future of the college will be great and this all credits is going to the teachers of there they are friendly they make us understand the hard lesson and much more the exam level is quite hard but we all clear it

HIT from a Student's perspective - A viewpoint rather than just another review

I liked the infrastructure, expertise of lecturers in their specific subjects, the greenery within the campus.

Dislikes

Useless Training and Placement Cell Staff.
No proper action against ragging of junior students.
No supervision to maintain standard of college hostel food.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had passed out BCA and wanted to study further to learn more and in depth.So, I had decided to join the course. Like all other curriculums of Indian education system, the course was outdated and failed to deliver the standard required to be job-ready. The areas of improvement could be to avoid long boring lectures or focusing on ranting textbook definitions and rather focus on real life based problem solving approach development. There were semester exams every 6 months. It was not at all hard if regular study schedule could be followed. However, biased grading by teachers made things difficult for all except a few.

Not an Ideal college for campus Life

Likes

College infrastructure is nice and well maintained
Faculties are comparatively good and they help you in studies, however they don't get enough time to teach everything
The college is autonomous, so the exam is managed by the college only and the exams are kindof easy

Dislikes

The administration fails in providing security to th students from ragging and other stuffs
The campus life is pretty boring till 2nd year coz there us a struct environment by the seniors
Nearby areas of the college is not that maintained, there is only 1 mall and riverside where u can go and you have to repeat these places for the 4 years

Campus Placements starts after 6th semester and majorily mass recruiters visit the campus and there are more opportunities for the cor branchs as compared to the non core because of the presence of many industries in the nearby areas.For this year, 12lpa is the highest placement in Commvault but the total placement is only around 50-60%, so my plan is to try getting off campus opportunities by the end of my 3rd year

Good for higher studies as well as job

Our college have good infrastructure as well as good faculty members.
Our college have many play ground for indoor or outdoor sports.
Our college have a big camp area and also a big library along with department libraries.

Dislikes

In monsoon for few days water was stage in drains.

Placement Experience:

Our college give a very good placement to students mainly in core sectors. Students get placed in adani power, tcs, cognizant, ibm etc with highest package 30 lap and avg package 4-6 lpa. My plan is to go for higher studies after my degree

the attendance criteria is not so strict
some professors are really really good, always there for help
sports facilities are really good, every evening you can play in the grounds

Dislikes

some professors even forget that you have submitted the assignment
ragging is done, is you get good seniors then ok else a little problematics for your 1st year

every engineering college has faced this issue, that not industry ready curriculum,and so much so,but if you are smart enough you need to think to improve or be in the same place forever,its your life your choice

College infrastructure and facilities are decent and well maintained
The environment around college is pleasing
College faculty is very helpful and friendly

Dislikes

75% attendance criteria is strictly followed which should be relaxed
The faculty is mostly bengali and they sometimes used bengali language to explain topics which is inconvenient for non bengali students
There is not much night life in this college due to strict rules and haldia being a small township

There is a seperate traning and placement cell for helping final year students get interviews from companies who visit the campus for placement company like wipro, Infosys , Cognizant , etc. The highest package last year was of 33 lpa

College campus are big, and there is a restaurant of college for eating and departmental stores for all stuffs
Provide labs in all type of departments.
good tech fest and cultural fest, with lots of fun games.

Dislikes

Wheather is too hot during summer which I feel not good
attendance createria of 75% is not good.
Some time faculty are start talking in Bengali languages whih we don't understand easly.

Placement Experience:

The placements of of the college is okay okay , it's is 4 -5 LPA, but in previous year the placements percentage is not much good than the more previous year , if you not get placements then you can apply for off campus. But if you gained all skills according to requirments of the company's then you get easly placed.

infrastructure is really good and campus is filled with grounds and lakes
faculties are very good and friendly and explains every topic properly
course curriculum is very industry relevant

Dislikes

attendance is strict and requires you to attend every class whatsoever
night life is very restricted and there's less to nothing to do here as it is a very small town
food is satisfactory but could have been better

the curriculum is very industry relavant and there are elective courses in third and fourth year to make a student ready for a proper job environment. first year subjects could have been better and some subjects feels unneccessary

College Infrastructure is good. The Four pillar structure is the landmark of our college.
Environment and nature around the college is pleasing.
Faculty are very supportive and labs are well maintained.

Dislikes

Attendance criteria should have been more relaxed.
Not many companies visit for campus internship, students have to try off campus to get internship in 2nd or 3rd year to get internship.
There is a language barrier sometimes when faculty explain a topic in bengali and non Bengali students are unable to understand it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Branch specific curriculum after completion of 1st year is decent and there are industry oriented elective courses in 3rd and 4th year to prepare the students for employment in their respective engineering field. Industrial internship is also included for 4th year students to make them ready for job opportunities. There could be improvements in the structure of the cource, especially for 1st year to make it for branch specific. Studying Chemistry or physics in 1st year is unnecessary. There are 3 class tests in a semester at 1 month interval and 1 final semester exam with medium to hard difficulty level.

The college has a really big campus and sports facilities which I loved the most
The placement was average 95 percent students got placed with an average package of 4 lakhs per annum

Dislikes

I dislike the ragging issue of the college which was quite alot because of the hostels being inside the campus of all the years .

Placement Experience:

Form 6 th semester you are eligible for placements . Companies start coming to the campus . Companies like. Tech Mahindra , cognizant , Mindtree , infosys etc come for the it sector and companies like l&t ,gulf asia ,labvantage , simplex etc come for the core branches

Haldia Institute of Technology is one of the largest residential engineering institutes in West Bengal. It is spread over an area of 36.98 acres of land and has been ranked at 163 position by NIRF ranking. The college is also accredited with A grade by NAAC

Courses:

The college offers various courses- B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA and MCA with a number of specialisations. The college offers B.Tech in CE, CSE, ECE, ME, IT, EE, Biotech and in many other specialisations and M.Tech in ECE, CSE, CE, ME and Biotechnology. The college has also offered new courses for B.Tech in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and cyber security. Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering and Chemical Engineering are top departments.

Placements:

As per the data of batch 2017-18, 72% students were placed and around 140 companies visited the campus for placements. Some of the top recruiters were Wipro, Infosys, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Amazon, Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd, Nestle, Adani Wilmar etc.

Fest:

The college also organises annual cultural fest “Riviera” and annual Techno Management fest- Prayukti”. A lot of competitions and events are held during the fest and different colleges participate in the same.
