- Teacher are so good. they behave very well. they support all time
- Yes, they provide scholarship fees, the job opportunities are also good and placements are also good.
- Amazing campus and social life. sports culture is one of the best in this college and also the main thing that is placements are the main attraction point of this college
Dislikes
- The hostels facility is not so good. the bathrooms are not so clean and there are hygiene issues. the food in the mess is not that much healthy.
- The things i disliked about my college is the teachers. sometimes the teachers teaches us in bengali language which is not understand by all the students
- The infrastructure of the class is not prominent. we have to ware college uniforms everyday. the projectors are broken in the class. there are broken benches in the class.

- The campus is spacious, green and relatively peaceful compared to crowded city colleges. Mini students comment that the environment is nice.
- The faculty are generally supportive. I found teachers willing to help if you put in effort. Students report this often.
- Good infrastructure in many respects: the labs library Wi-Fi and computing faculties are above average for a private engineering College.
Dislikes
- Hostal and mess: several students complain about the quality of hostel food overcrowding hygiene issues in bathrooms.
- Strict rules/ attendance/ dress code: freshers and hostel students mention very strict attendance rules, dress code, curfews that can feel stifling.
- Placement disparity: While IT or CSC branches may do well, purv branches like mechanical civil report weaker placement out come. So your branch matter a lot.
Placement Experience:
The placements at halding Institute of Technology are decent specially for it CSE and allied branches. Many companies from software IT services and 4 sector visit the campus every year. Top recoders include TCS, cognizant, Wipro, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra and other mid level ID firms. Average packages range around 3 to 4 LPA while some top performers rescue higher offers. For branches with fewer campus opportunities students focus on intensive Steel development and certification to enhance emploibility. Those who do not get campus offer higher studies like Mtech MBA competitive exams or startups insuring career growth after graduation.

- Campus Life is good we have 38acre lush green campus where you can enjoy with your friends and garden restaurant sankha chill and many more places .Girl to boys ratio in our department is 1:3
- If you are good student then your placement is confirm which give a better roi

- College is very strict about 75% attendance if you have not attend theory class then you can also not attend lab
- Night life in campus is totally prohibited strict security that you can go and come inside campus after 10pm
- College does not organise any technical and non tech fest in recent years

Average package is 5lpa lowest package is 1.2lpa highest package is 11lpa(on campus) from chemical engineering 36lpa(off campus)
From the starting of 4th year company started to come

Company like tcs,wipro,infosys, cognizant, Capgemini,haldia petro chemical, ambuja, accenture visit every year
This year infosys give 189 offer to student of 3.6lpa

- No Attendance criteria, it is there but as strict as other colleges around
Dislikes
- The course is quite outdated, and teachers them self are aware of the trending tech and the teaching far away from what the real industry requires. No hackathons (I am talking about regionals), No project based learning.
- They discourage Bright and innovative culture
Course Curriculum Overview:
Curriculum is no doubt pretty outdated.
Consider AI/ML for example you are not thought about any of the AI related topics, yes none .
If you are looking for Ai regarding lecturs I will advice you to watch Harvad ML lecturs they are fantastic.

- The fees of our college is quite low rather than other colleges in our west bengal.
- The labs and professors are very good and all the teachers are PhD holders.
- Exams and other things are flexible and and well maintained also their is no issues for low attendance but we have to maintain 75% attendance
Dislikes
- It's outside of Kolkata and not like big city
- Sometimes few proffesors are hot tempered but most of them are very good .

Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is very relevant and useful for us.They teach data structures algorithm that is very important for college placements and they also teach os, networks and other usefull things that is very important in computer science.They provide very high quality labs and the whole college has a good internet connection.Tecahers are very educated and good they helps us and teaching in very good way .The exams time schedule is also very good if there is any problem the college will change the exam date that is really a good thing.

- Teacher gives attention for each students. Good college campus
- Good place to improve your personality. You can improve your talent. Any kind of talent you have
- Good alumini connection which gives support I'm placement. Even average package is satisfying
Dislikes
- Difficulty in understanding bengali language. Which is used frequently by teachers
- Since ragging is in every college. So ragging is also the major reason for dislike
- There is no major action taken by college for ragging so that it can be controlled
Placement Experience:
College placement is neither much good nor much bad. You will get satisfying placement. From the 6th semester you are eligible for placement interview. The highest placement is 45 lakh and average is 4LPA.

- Inside the college you feel small barrier in bengali and non Bengalis people
- Some seniors take ragging of their juniors
- Some teachers and laboratory staff behaviour has very rude

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

- I really like the college campus area college campus area is very big and they are not several playing ground inside the college campus.
- I really like the hostels the food is very affordable in the hostel also and there is no electricity fee in the hostel.
- There are various type of clubs and societies both technical or non-technical in our college that really helps for personality development.
Dislikes
- I dislike the college location as it is in a little bit off beat area .
- Very less connectivity options. (public or private)
Placement Experience:
The placement scenario at Haldia Institute of technology is quite decent specially for the branch Computer science engineering student usually become eligible for on campus placements from sixth semester. Many well-known companies visit the campus every year like TCS Infosys , cognizant , Accenture ,PWD etc
In last few years around 85 to 90% student students get placed.
The average packages are 4 to 5 lpa, in 2025 the highest package is 75LPA , in 2024 it was 40 LPA in 2023 it was 33LPA. My plan after getting the degree is higher studies in very prestigious IIT or getting a very good placement

- The campus is green and great . The grounds are well maintained .. i wouldn't say the gym is very good but the indoor sports facility is really great.
- Library is really great and spacious. One of the best aspects of being a part of HIT haldia is the access to the library.
- Few labs are good and air conditioned well not all are this good though.
Dislikes
- Our department class does not have AC for 1st and 2nd years.Other departments have it.
- We do not get a academic calendar before hand so it's really hard to be sure about examination dates and internal exams.although they inform us before hand but having an academic calendar before hand helps a lot to plan things out .
- There has not been a single cultural event or technical fest as they had mentioned and advertised which is really dispointing . And also there is still the culture of intros and ragging existing in hit.

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Haldia Institute of Technology is one of the largest residential engineering institutes in West Bengal. It is spread over an area of 36.98 acres of land and has been ranked at 163 position by NIRF ranking. The college is also accredited with A grade by NAAC
Courses:
The college offers various courses- B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA and MCA with a number of specialisations. The college offers B.Tech in CE, CSE, ECE, ME, IT, EE, Biotech and in many other specialisations and M.Tech in ECE, CSE, CE, ME and Biotechnology. The college has also offered new courses for B.Tech in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and cyber security. Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering and Chemical Engineering are top departments.
Placements:
As per the data of batch 2017-18, 72% students were placed and around 140 companies visited the campus for placements. Some of the top recruiters were Wipro, Infosys, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Amazon, Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd, Nestle, Adani Wilmar etc.
Fest:
The college also organises annual cultural fest “Riviera” and annual Techno Management fest- Prayukti”. A lot of competitions and events are held during the fest and different colleges participate in the same.
