There is nothing to dislike about the University, the fact that so many things keeps happening in the university, it becomes a task to decide which events to attend and which not to. From workshops, to case competitions to hackathons, to industry sessions, NYU has it all. There is so much more to do apart from the curriculum is the thing i like the most about NYU.

Mostly everyone that graduates from NYU, secures a job but I don't have the exact numbers, so I cannot give you the numbers
I don't have the numbers even for the salary, so it would be wrong to put a number that is not accurate.
Usually students try to get hands on internship in the Summer period, and they try to convert that internship into full time by performing well. Some of them excel that this, some of them don't. Mostly everyone uses LinkedIn, Jobright to apply to jobs and network. Even attending tech events and networking with people works the best, since people working in the industry could potentially give a referral in their company if one has good networking skills, and this is one of the best ways to land an interview in companies.
We do have job fairs and we have this Wasserman center for career development for NYU students where they guide us regarding career. Unfortunately there is no campus recruitment system, like the one in India where companies come to a college to hire students. Companies do come for job fairs and even for hackathons. So winning a hackathon directly connects people to those companies.

So here at NYU, there is very limited on campus accommodation, and it is majorly for the undergrads. And only a few for the grad students that too fills up quickly since it is very limited. So mostly everyone prefers to lease an apartment in the city and 3-4 students live together depending on the size of the apartment. I found the accommodation in this NYU Community for Indian students on whatsapp. A lot of people post there regarding housing and other important stuff.
My monthly rent is $1000, and since it's not an on campus accommodation, I had to buy everything that I wanted, from Bed frame, to table, chair, wardrobe, etc. We also can buy it second from the same Whatsapp community since a lot of people also post there if they want to sell something, even Facebook Marketplace is a good place to buy second hand utilities.
Apart form that it usually depends on the apartment owner of the things they provide. Mostly gas, heater (not always), washer and dryer (depends on owner id they provide), fridge, these things are provided by the owner of the apartment.

My NYU experience

Likes

The professors are very good here, they are very passionate about their subjects and they are ready to help us with anything we want. They engage the class so well that we will be pulled into the class, and we will be curious to learn.
There are tons of events going on always every week I can see that there are atleast 5 events going on where I can even get free food.
There are lots of clubs where you can explore your interests, starting from the painting club to the space club. There are as many clubs as you want. You can have any hobby, there will be a club at NYU.

Dislikes

We don't have a campus here. The campus is very small, and we have buildings with the flag of NYU all around New York, which is when we understand ohhh!!! this is also NYU, it's plain buildings, we won't get the experience of college vibes with big campuses. It feels like just going to college and coming back to the room.
The fee here is very expensive. Its very huge amount which takes up most of the money we spend here.
Living expenses is also very expensive compared to other colleges, the rent is very high in NYC and also other expenses.

Almost all will get a job finally through the network of NYU.

Our seniors found it difficult at the beginning to find an internship; eventually, everyone got one, a paid one or an unpaid one. Still, they are looking for full-time jobs; some are facing difficulty in it, but still they are optimistic about it.

I pay rent of $860, including all the furniture and utilities, that is water, electricity and gas.
It was very difficult to find an accommodation; we had to go through many websites and had to call landlords late at night.
I don't have any leads for accommodation. Start to look for accommodation early and contact any seniors who are passing out, that would be an easy option. We have to travel 30 minutes by train.

The campus is well maintained, modern and has a great environment for learning as classrooms are high-tech and spacious.
On-campus opportunities are quite good if you work smart you will get opportunity and wages are quite high.
NYU provides one of the best networking opportunities.

Dislikes

The university has multiple buildings across the city, making it less centralized and sometimes inconvenient to navigate.
On-campus jobs and assistantships are limited and highly competitive.
Being located in the middle of a busy city, certain areas around campus can feel unsafe during late hours.

Placement

About 60-70% of my graduating batch get full-time jobs within 6 months. The average salary depends on the role but it's between 70-100K USD. Students find jobs through campus recruitment, internships, networking events, and online portals like LinkedIn, indeed, handshake, etc.
Many of my batchmates got roles in cybersecurity firms in MNCs like Google and Microsoft and finance companies as analysts, engineers, or consultants.

I opted for off-campus accommodation. I found my place through WhatsApp's student groups. Monthly rent was around $500-1000, including basic amenities like Wi-Fi and laundry.
Most Indian students stay within a 30-minute commute. I recommend starting your search early and joining local student groups for help. I prefer Brooklyn but most Indians prefer to live in Jersey City,which is far.

Provides a lot of facilities such as wellness things, student support, gaming utilities etc.

I interviewed for Amazon and there were 4 rounds. 1st round was OA and other 3 involved technical + behavioral questions. Major companies that hire Are Amazon, Meta, Intuit, Apple and Tesla.

I opted for off campus accommodation in the Bed Stuyvesant area. One of my friends found and invited me to join the lease. Monthly rent is around $800 including all utilities(hot water, gar, electricity) for private bedroom.
The only challenge we encountered was to find the guarantors. Guarantors charge a lot of money approx. $1000 to guarantee that you would be able to pay the rent. My accommodation is approx. 20 mins from college. Most of the Indian students stay in Bayridge or journal square.

NYU has more than 18 schools in its New York Campus, which lets me explore courses and careers in many diverse fields.
As it has many schools within the university, so I get to make great connections in academia, as well as industry.

It is a very costly university, so I have to pay high tuition fees.
The university has an open campus, which does not look good.

First make a group, then start looking for an apartment from May itself, because it takes time to get an apartment.
It's 6 miles from my location. Most of them stay in the same area where I live.

There are not many great opportunities. Most students have to pursue a masters program to have feasible career options.

I chose this college because I wanted to upskill my copywriting skills and Humber College was the only college which offered a course that would help me do so within the budget that I had planned. Overall experience I would say has been great so far. Right from the moment I came here it has been a smooth ride. I enjoyed the courses I chose, I made good friends.

Professors and labs were as I expected it to be. They also have a student club for hack nights.

Placement

Research opportunities are a lot. There are a lot of research labs which run a lot of projects. The labs have faculty running them as well.

Overall this is a great university to be in. It has a lot of different facilities which can benefit future students. The curriculum is great and practical and will make sense to you in your job as well. Living in New York is also amazing. It is one of the best cities.

Best University- Stern School of Business is Best Business School where I got admit.

Nothing specified- average post- study Placement is not specified. Research Opportunities in any program for students is limited.

Till now it has been great. Extremely tough curriculum, but it is after all NYU. There have been many great events. Even one job fair. It is great but little too expensive. For MS students in Courant and Stern they don’t give any scholarships which is bad. Otherwise great. Good faculty, tough but good.
