The fact that student come from diverse background and culture makes learning more enriching
They have a huge campus and people can have walks and spend time with their friends till late night
Students have to ho for fieldwork and internship after every semester which gives them am opportunity to apply all their knowledge practically.
Dislikes
The campus is situated a far from city and it is little difficult as there is no proper transport(public) facility for students from campus.
The hectic schedule can be overwhelming for the students sometimes.
Placement Experience:
TISS-G has a placement cell that is run by students with support of the faculties. Students are eligible to sit for placement after they have registered for placements, from 4th (last) semester. Organisations start visiting the campus to recruit the graduating batch. The leading NGOs, foundations, PSUs and corporates have been the past recruiters of TISS. Almost 90% students get placed and who don't get placed campus drive her jobs easily when they apply offline. Highest package goes around 13lpa and average package is 6lpa.
Here placement is only for Masters students and the placement starts from the final semester, bachelor students do have placement but it comes in the form of fellowships as a teacher post such as teach for India, Gandhi fellowship, and a few more. The highest package was 15 lakhs this year and usually, around 80% get placement.
Here 100 percent of students get the placement, In the last year, 3 students had met the placement for 15 lakh per year. College provides different placements for Courses From different courses.
The campus placement is provided by the constant effort by the placement team that is chosen by the students themselves. But due to the current situation, placement opportunities were lessened up making some students struggle for job opportunities.
This programme I am enrolled provides an wide array of subjects ranging from basic maths, statistics, hindi/Assamese (option is provided between the local language and hindi) and all disciplines that come under social science. Tata Institute of Social Science is one of the premiere social science institute in India with renowned faculty.
This is a 3 year master’s course and has 17 seats. Students must apply with the score of the entrance exam conducted by TISS which is a 100 mark test and based on those scores only students are granted admission however, 66% seats are reserved for north eastern students. The university was ranked 6th in APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University in 2017 and again ranked 2nd among private engineering colleges in 2017. The college is equipped with the best of infrastructure and amenities to support an overall education of the students.
