An honest review about Cgc Jhanjeri

Likes

Abundant Placement opportunities because of tie up with CGC Landran and CU. Previous placement records are good. Academics are in accordance to PTU and it's quite easy to have a good CGPA that'll be required by companies.
Beautiful and maintained campus, students come from across India as well as abroad. Every culture is celebrated in our college. Many fests are organised and Bollywood and Punjabi celebrities are invited over. The fashion show ' Meraki' is fabulous.
We also get opportunities to take part in inter college competitions with many colleges including IITs. Our college hosts multiple hackathons

Dislikes

Hostel accomodation is costly and girls hostel is quite strict.
Not many food options available inside campus.
Attendance can be an issue because if you don't fulfill 75 percent criteria you would br forbidden to take exam and mid semester tests.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for internship from 5th semester and placement from 6th semester. Numerous companies visit over college individually as well as due to tie up with CGC Landran amd CU. Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk , Walmart ,JP Morgan , Morgan Stanley, SIHR , Watchdog ,Wissen Technologies, DBS tech, LGSoft , TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Cognizant etc. highest package was 45.5 lpa for Amazon and 37 for autodesk and 29 for adobe. average package is around 9 lpa offered 80 Percent of students get placements. I'm planning on getting college placement and start my journey as a software engineer in a tech firm.

Strict but Secured

Likes

Placement opportunity is good in our college. It can be a good choice.
Friendly environment is maintained in our campus
Workshops and labs are prioritized for industrial exposure

Dislikes

Some of the teachers have a punjabi accent
The class hours are long and tiring especially in summer
The campus is smaller in respect to CU and CGC landran

Placement Experience:

In the early 7th sem, the students become eligible for placements. there are various companies like Autodesk, Microsoft, Adobe ,etc visited our college.The highest package offered is 40 lakh in our batch.

College Life - A part of mine life

Likes

College facilities in studies i.e infrastructure especially for the labs we opted
College cafeterias when it comes to eat healthy it is none other than college canteen
College ground is one of the best place to do exercise play sports making memories

Dislikes

Entrance can be created more boarder so it looks good
Security should be little lenient as students are mature now
Dance parties should be organised on weekends or fortnighy

Placement Experience:

The college administration focus upon the placement and thus running placement cell side by side for the practice of the students who are going to be sit in placement drives from 3rd semester onwards so that even a weak student get sufficient time to improve his skills for the drive. Almost 100 percent student got placed in reputed companies based upon the facts they have cleared their backlogs.

Faculty members are good and supportive and give best environment for study
Good in Sports and extra curricular activities

Dislikes

Hostel good are not so good but eatable sometime
There is no lift facility in hostel and students who are on 6th floor facing difficulty

Placement Experience:

From 6th semesters onwards we will eligible for campus placements Companies visited in our campus are autocad Microsoft Amazon Flipkart etc Almost 70-80% students will get placement as I observe till now

UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCE AS A STUDENT OF FIRST BATCH OF YOUR COURSE

Likes

College has a great infrastructure and the vibe is also fun
Classrooms are well maintained and equipped with projectors for easy understanding of topics

Dislikes

The college is too far from the city area , so you have to travel a lot to get to the college if you are not opting for the hostel and if you try stay in the nearby villages like jhanjeri there isn't much there too there aren't any places to chill or
Relax you will have to stay in your room all the time
Sometimes rules are too strict like if you are 10 mins late to reach the college the the gates get closed and they just waste your time until you miss your 1st lecture and if you bychance forgot your I'd card you entry won't be allowed

Placement Experience:

I don't know anything about the placements yet because it was the first batch in the college for our course ( BSC biotechnology) when I joined but we have told that there will be practice classes for placement drives , you will be eligible for placement in your 6th semester or your last semester if you take another course which is longer , but according to my courses even if I am unable to get placement I can still join any biotechnology firms as a lab assistant.

University Life At CGC Jahnjeri

Likes

Faculty of college, hostel are very nice
Fests were held and every festival is celebrated
Greenery everywhere, playground is very big, and campus is also nice

Course Curriculum Overview:

The teaching methods are very good. Teachers are very supportive and helpful. They clear the doubts of the students. I choose B.tech CSE because my aim is to do engineering and take placement through this college.

True face of CGC jhanjeri

Likes

Faculty is good and supportive. Treat very good
Campus life is good because of events and chill teachers.
Infrastructure is good and modern. And keeps on upgrading

Dislikes

Old curriculum is the disliked side here.
Few clubs are not working that we'll, I so lag at some point.
Students here are not that much aware about their fields, they are working on

Placement Experience:

From sixth semester you are elegible for placements. TCS, HP, Godrej, IBM, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, AWS, Microsoft, Bank of America, Capgemini, etc visit here for placement drive. Highest package is about 45LPA, and average is about 5LPA.

Likes

I like to take part in hackathons and ideathons organised by college.
I like the fact that college organise many seminars and lectures in collaboration with famous personalities
College's infrastructure is top notch with affordable fees

Dislikes

Gender ratio is very bad in this Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri
Hostel environment is not good because students involve in bad activities such as smoking, drugs
Imposing 'Fine' culture is too much in this college.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good in Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri. Many company come in this college for campus recruitment. 800+ companies come for placements and 8500+ placement offers are recieved by students . Adobe , Google , Microsoft, byjus , the math company , etc. The average package here is 5 LPA and highest package is 45.5 LPA. Students from 6th semester onwards become eligible for placements. Percentage of students get placed is 60%

Infrasturcture of collage, classses, staff
Studies are much better then other places
Staff nd faculty is very cooparative, and this collage also provide alot of new oppurtunities

The student of 3 year is eligible for the placements.The different companies came there for hiring likr amazon, flipcart,microsoft and many more as in last year the highesht paackage was 35 lakh the student plaved in amazon

Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri Mohali

Campus environment is very good, you can roam around in your free time.
Faculty and people here are cooperative and friendly.
Various fests and events held in this campus each year which keeps you charged.

Dislikes

There's 75% attendance rule which you need to follow to appear in exams.
Tuesday and Wednesday dress code to be followed which sometimes gives school vibes.
Canteen food not up to the mark. They should improve quality and taste.

Placement Experience:

There are lots and lots of placement offers to students who opted for their tpp programme for which they charge a small fee, which is 3500 rs. from 7th semester, students get placement offers. Companies like autodesk, phonepe, cognizant, tcs, wipro... etc. visit campus and a big no.s of offers are made to students. Highest package is 36 lpa and average is 6.6 lpa this year. Around 80% of students get college placements. I also got placed in a good company in mohali during my last semester.

My cousin studies at CGC Jhanjeri and it's a nice and average place to be. Following are some issues though, which may be burdensome:

If you wish to go out during college hours then you will need to get an application signed by the CC and the HOD. The process itself will take up a lot of time.
Girls can stay out up to 7 pm in summers and 6 pm in winters and you can step out to roam in the campus by 4:30 and you will have to return in two hours to avoid sending a call home.
You should have at least a 75% attendance like most colleges, but it will be evaluated every 15 days. You will have to attend 75% of 15 days to avoid detention during the Monthly Sessional Tests of MSTs.
The campus is verdant and hygienic and it has a playground, but it is surrounded by grasslands on all sides up to 5 Kms. It has all the basic amenities like stationery shops, sports ground, pool, games room, etc.
Even transportation is an issue and autos and buses are the only way but quite time-consuming.

Hostel, mess food, cleanliness, room Sharing are not any issues at all. You will not have to worry about ragging too. You can go to Chandigarh for shopping after getting your passbook filled and signed by the Warden.

However, you cannot bunk because the campus is small, you can get discovered very easily and may face some good punishment. As for placements, it all depends upon research-based hard work and skills. Major companies do visit for recruitment.
