I like to take part in hackathons and ideathons organised by college.
I like the fact that college organise many seminars and lectures in collaboration with famous personalities
College's infrastructure is top notch with affordable fees

Dislikes

Gender ratio is very bad in this Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri
Hostel environment is not good because students involve in bad activities such as smoking, drugs
Imposing 'Fine' culture is too much in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

As Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri is affiliated to Punjab Technical University Jalandhar so the curriculum is set by PTU . The curriculum of btech consists of Programming languages and upto date syllabus which makes it better. The curriculum also consists of confidence building classes which is a good point. The mid semester tests are conducted 2 times per semester which I think should be reduced to one .

Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri provides many internship opportunities to it's students . I haven't applied for any internship. But to be honest this college provides many internship opportunities

Placement Experience

Placements are good in Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri. Many company come in this college for campus recruitment. 800+ companies come for placements and 8500+ placement offers are recieved by students . Adobe , Google , Microsoft, byjus , the math company , etc. The average package here is 5 LPA and highest package is 45.5 LPA. Students from 6th semester onwards become eligible for placements. Percentage of students get placed is 60%

Fees and Financial Aid

In Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri fees structure is affordable. The college is getting expensive day after day the fees is increasing for upcoming batches . If I talk about my course fees then it is Rs.64150 per semester and the total cost of btech will approximately be 5 lakhs+. Also per semester PTU exam fees is rs.2850 . College often organises events like hackathons, ideathons and I enjoy taking part in them too.

Campus Life

Campus Life is fascinating too in Chandigarh Group of Colleges. Every year the college welcomes the freshers by organising a fresher party named as 'PARICHAY' near the month of September or October. The college also organises Tech fest 'UTSAV' in the month of March Every year. This college celebrates every day in its unique way whether it is about Engineers day or Diwali.The campus library has near 6000. College organise sports events too for the faculty as well as the students. Aslo organises Hostel premiere league for hostelers. Hacathons , ideathons are also organised .

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is also provided by Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri. Boys hostel is named as Himalaya Boys Hostel and girls hostel is named as Gangotri Girls Hostel. The boys hostel is huge with the accomodation capacity of 1000+ students. Hostels are 4 seater . In each room 4 students are accomodated . 4 chairs , 4 beds , 1 air cooler , 2 fans , balcony , big 4 almirahs are provided . 2 mess are provided on the ground floor of hostel one for seniors and one for juniors. Hostel mess menu changes every week. The quality of food is average. Registration process for hostel is simple . One can go to college office any apply for hostel or go to hostel warden office and talk to warden and pay the fees and easily get a room.

Hostel Fee: INR 110000 per year

Admission

If we talk about admissions in Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri then there is first come first serve system. Simply go to the admission cell and fill the admission form or just go to college website and apply for admission then you will get a call and your seat will get confirmed once you pay some amount for seat confirmation College should have some criteria for admissions

Likes

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Likes

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts
Skilled professional educators and tutors

Dislikes

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

Placement Experience:

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

Big campus and beautiful garden and environment
Aqi was soo good because plants and tree was so much

Dislikes

Mess food was bad but it doesn't taste that bad
If we Complaint about anything college mostly ignore it

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

Likes

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Dislikes

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time
Placement is decent and average as like other collage

I like my couse btech with computer science because it has high change to geeting high paying jobs and to build a successful career with my opinion they can improve their faculty with higher education qualification

Frequent demand of money as fees n hostel charge
Gym is provided but only for name, no fame , always full

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

I like the machines that's why I choose the mechanical branch in engineering line. Noida , Gurgoan , Chandigarh , Bengluru and many other areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Likes

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late
Great mentors and very helpful teachers who are always willing to help

Dislikes

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.
The lack of certain facilities that would help the students improve thoer personalities
Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
