Likes

Courses are Very much Affordable as it is a State Govt University
Ambience of the University is really pleasant and environment is peaceful
Cotton University is one of the Best universities in Northeast India

Dislikes

Hostels require renovation and better cleanliness
There should be more field trips for better understanding of the courses
Results are given a bit late. This should be looked after.

Internships Opportunities:

Internships are provided by the university to the students pursuing PhD. A minimal stipend is paid and a good working environment is provided in each department. Overall the internship opportunities is satisfactory.

Student life of the Cotton University

Likes

Highly qualified and educated faculty member they help the students doing research , give practical knowledge
Campus life is of the college is very good ,cultural fest and other co curriculum activities held in college which motivate students
Many workshop and popular political leaders were invited for the programs

Dislikes

Hostel foods is not so hygienic, they need to improve
We have so long period of class starts from 9 am to 5pm students got tired of such a long day .
Canteen facilities is not so good there is only one canteen in college they need to expand

Internships Opportunities:

There are many interesting internship opportunities that the university provide for the overall growth of the students. Companies like AICTE skills and development internship and many more internship opportunities were provide by the university.

Campus Life of the cotton university

Likes

University infrastructure is very good, computer labs, library and other facilities are provided.
College faculties are highly qualified and knowledge, they support students to excellence there academic results.
Campus Life of the college is very good, cultural nights and other co curriculum activities are held in college every month.

Dislikes

Hostel infrastructure is bit comprising, time table is very strict.
Hostel food is not so hygienic, they need to improve it.
Canteen facilities are not so good, only 1 canteen is available in college, they need to expand it to maintain balance in students.

Internships Opportunities:

There are many interesting internship opportunities that the university provides for the overall growth of the students, AICTE skills and development intership and many more intership opportunities are provided by the university.

The university also has a open campus and is situated in the city area so no problem for commute
Teachers and Facilities here are very highly qualified

Dislikes

Classrooms can be improved with modern infrastructure
Too much of cultural holidays are observed
Sometimes syllabus doesn’t completes and hence students need to attend online classes

The curriculum is very well designed with all necessary learning materials.
Professors and teaching staff are highly skilled in their course of study and are mostly helpful.
The fee structure is affordable for all sections of society with adequate scholarship programmes and financial aid.

Dislikes

Placement cell is less talked about and could be given more encouragement and emphasis.
Examination results are sometimes late though not always.

Internships Opportunities:

I am just a freshie so I have little knowledge over this. However there are students from both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes who have secured internships in RBI, IOCL, Pride East Entertainment Limited etc.

The teaching methods of a few good professors.
Culturally active, focuses on extra-curricular activities
The Placement and Career Counselling Cell, PACCC

Dislikes

No proper place for the students to rest or seat during free periods.
The auditorium is too small for the students.
The dirty politics and the boysespecially fighting for power

Internships Opportunities:

Mental Hospitals and Medical Colleges. The psychology students are more focused on internships as they contains marks. They have to make a project out of their experience during the internship with the certificates attached to it.

The faculty is good .The student teacher relationship is good and friendly.
The vicinity is clean and the environment is positive.
The canteen is good provides clean and hygienic food.

The equipment in the practical can be made more better.
The result announcement is a bit late than usual.
The convocation takes place late than it should be.

Teachers a really friendly and helpful.infrastructure is good
Have good sports facility with a huge library in the campus..
The environment is really good there and students there arebvery competitive and curious and smart

Dislikes

Laboratories are good but need about more to improve for further use
Allotment of new halls for smart classes needed
The authority supports us in every field of extra carricular activities like arts,dances but need more support to grow in that field

Internships Opportunities:

We get micro research fellowship internships and different internships in different fields . we get internships in oil India, railways, etc. We get projects from different technical companies and also get stipends for completion of the project on time and efficiently.

A basic outlook on Cotton University by an experience from undergraduate student.

Likes

I got admission here in 2022. That time the admission was pure based on merit basis. Like the scores of your 12th standard subjects matters.
overall calm environment. Any one residing from Assam or northeast state can avail there admission in this college. It's lot easier now because of the implementation of entrance exam CUET.
Most of the staffs and teachers are helpful if you reach out to them.

Dislikes

Though it's name and status for over 200 years. ITs ranking is below average in Indian college ranking as per the latest lists issued by the Government sites.
Being a student here I have been finding a bit off in terms of hygiene. Especially the washrooms.
Not much to say about my college. It has the same pros and cons similar to any Government or semi government colleges you will find in India.

A glance into life in Cotton University

Likes

The academic excellence of the university- The professors are highly qualified, the syllabus is good.
There is abundance of co-curricular activities in Cotton University. One can truly reach their best potential here.
This University is the most prestigious university of Northeast India with more than 120 years of glorious history.

Dislikes

The marking system is not up to date. Students are not given enough marks.
There is need for improvement in the infrastructure.
The university doesn't have a playground of its own.

Internships Opportunities:

Many of the PSU's offer internship opportunities to the students in the university. There is a Placement and Career Counselling Cell in the University that looks into this department. The University has also collaborated with Assam Start-Up to provide opportunities to the students.
