- I get swami vivekananda merit cum scholarship which is very helpful for me.
- Placements the placement for computer science and technology department is really appreciable and since it is a college of national importance, some really highy package giving companies come for placements and take a good handful number of student.
- Campus is very green and lovely. you would surely love the experience.
Dislikes
- The hostel facility is horrible in our college we don't have many single seater rooms there were very limited which intern causes disputes among students and the food facility was also not good it's really very hard
- Actually hostel facilities is not good in indian institute of enginnering science and technology the maintainnace is poor and my college is in west bengal, shibpur and for me i dont like bengal food as i am from andhra pradesh.
- The hostels are a bit bad in condition. one has to face some problems regarding stay.

- First of all the placements are good. The teachers are awesome. The environment is sweet and any one can stay here very comfortably. Maximum students are very talented, hardworking and intelligent, everyone has a big aim in life.
- The functions of the college at any event and at any fastival are very interesting.
- The indoor games and outdoor games facilities available.
Dislikes
- The building are getting old they should have to paint the buildings and decorate.
- The hostel for PG students is not good specially for girls.
Placement Experience:
In M.Tech. the students are eligible for placements after second sem. The highest package is 56lpa giving by Microsoft. The average placement pakage for CSE is around 10lpa. 90 percent students getting placed.

- The college is full of greenary, big campus, lots of places inside the college to visit
- you can get easily 7 point or more in semester by just studying one night before exam.
- The college gives good placement offer to the students.
Dislikes
- The teachers are not upto the mark. Like this is a nit level college but we dont feel the teacher is capable of that level.
- The classrooms are not so good against the fees we paid .
- The college does not provide hostel to all the students.
Placement Experience:
for b.tech its 6 semester.
for m.tech its 3rd semester that students are eligible for placement.
lots of company have visited this college like tcs,wipro,Tata steel, Google,etc.
HIghest package is 40LPA
average is 7LPA.
Almost 90% of student get placed here.
Get a good job after completing this course.

- Campus life, nature, wind (cool wind blowing) i enjoyed them most with my friends
- Placement was great and were effective along with internship opportunity
- Number of lakes in the campus and time spent on the bench
Dislikes
- Campus infrastructure was old and weary also there is a graveyard inside the campus thats scary.
Placement Experience:
For placement the college cell will ask you to register in Superset website. From your superset account you can apply for job and internships in different comapnies. there are more than 20 companies visited for placement this year. arround 80 percent students from my department were placed last year.

for BTech students, placement records are very good for every department,
Nowadays cs it is on its peak.
for postgraduate student placement are not so good
but this college is very good for research.

From the 3rd semester in Mtech the students can seat for the placement. Many renowned companies like TCS, CTS and many core companies like L& T come to this college for placement. The average package is above 5 lakh and the highest ma is 20-25 lakhs, the percentage of students getting placements is very good around 95%. After getting the degree I will do PhD from this institute because I want to add more value to society.

Remarks:
Research Prospective and Placements are Good this year(Amazon,Codenation,PwC etc. MNCs).Its an Indian Institute and Institute of National Importance with NIRF ranking 21 in 2020.It has worldwide research collaboration,with excellent network of communication.

Admitted after giving and securing a good rank in the joint entrance examination. Then choosing the couse was easy in this college as this is one of the best colleges in India. I was admitted to the civil engineering department which is the oldest in the country in this college.

Currently, the institution In engineering category, it is holding the 19th position in the NIRF rankings among all the institutes of the country. It is an Institute of National Importance under MHRD by the Government of India along with IITs, NITs and the other institutes. Overall studying in such premier institution is a matter of pride.

College is very good for studies and job opportunities. There is a very good environment for studies, students can enlighten their future by the good and experienced faculties in our college. Faculties have very good knowledge on their respective topics which helps us most of the time.

One of my friends is a final-year student at IIEST Shibpur. According to him, the placement last year has been great. Microsoft IDC (PPO), Mentor Graphics, CESC Ltd (PPO), Tata Steel (PPO), Bentley Systems completed their recruitment process on campus and hired more candidates than they did last year. Companies like Atlassian, Samsung R&D, and PwC are also expected to recruit on campus. A brief discussion about placements and other aspects of the institute are as follows.
Placements:
- Pre-final year students got internship offers from various firms like Microsoft R&D, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, and Texas Instruments this year. Other firms which will be having on-campus recruitment will most likely be hiring interns also. Hence, needless to mention that the placement scenario has continued its trend of improvement this year as well.
- Students have been hired in companies like Microsoft IDC, Cognizant, Samsung R&D, Infosys, TCS Research and Innovation, Z. S. Associates, etc. from campus placements. Off-campus placements also include Google (Bangalore).
- The median salary that has been offered is around 7 LPA and every one of the scholars participating in placements got placed. The placement cell improved and has become more proactive and efficient in training and placement of scholars.
Infrastructure:
- All departments, libraries and hostels are Wi-Fi enabled with decent speeds. The Science and Technology Department features a 1Gigabit backbone network.
- The rooms and labs are well maintained and have all the specified equipment. The central library is not extremely big but features a good assortment of useful titles. There are smaller departmental libraries also.
- The hostels are decent and clean but might be improved. They need indoor game facilities also. A replacement hostel for women has just been built and features a far better review.
- There are multiple canteens on Campus serving good quality food at reasonable rates and a CCD stall with significantly cheaper rates than usual.
- Other amenities include Gymnasium, Sports fields, Court and Infirmary.
Faculty:
- The college consists of highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers. They clear the doubts if consulted. Most teachers teach using both chalkboard and multimedia aids.
- There are multiple teachers and other lab assistants to guide the students during the lab classes.
- The course curriculum is aligned with most other national institutions and contains the essential topics necessary for the course.
The campus is lush green and located on the bank of the river Ganges. Right beside the institute is Botanical Gardens. Many events take place at the institute all year around. There are annual Techno-Management fest Instruo, Annual Cultural fests Rebecca and Anuranan, and departmental fests. Besides that, there are also sports events. Meritorious students can avail scholarships sponsored by the Alumni Association.
