- I get swami vivekananda merit cum scholarship which is very helpful for me.
- Placements the placement for computer science and technology department is really appreciable and since it is a college of national importance, some really highy package giving companies come for placements and take a good handful number of student.
- Campus is very green and lovely. you would surely love the experience.
Dislikes
- The hostel facility is horrible in our college we don't have many single seater rooms there were very limited which intern causes disputes among students and the food facility was also not good it's really very hard
- Actually hostel facilities is not good in indian institute of enginnering science and technology the maintainnace is poor and my college is in west bengal, shibpur and for me i dont like bengal food as i am from andhra pradesh.
- The hostels are a bit bad in condition. one has to face some problems regarding stay.

If I talk about my branch which is computer science and technology the placement is very good as the average package is 20. 1lakhs which is the best thing about this course in this college but the civil students reduce the placement therefore college has an average placement of 14 lakhs per year

- Friendly environment and beautiful infrastructure.

Placement Experience:
Placements are quite impressive each year and about 80-85% of students are placed every year. Many tech companies like Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Accenture, TCS, and many more visited last year, and multiple offers are also made by some students. The highest package is about 45 LPA given to a student and the average is about 12 LPA.

- Infrastructure is one of the negatives of this college, the thing is it is second oldest college in all of India.
Placement Experience:
Companies start to come to our college to provide internships from the 5 semesters onwards. many companies come to provide placements and internships to our college offering in different fields including tech, core, analyst etc. Almost 80% of students easily get placed here...without any problems. Many prominent companies like Google, Microsoft, Texas instruments etc. So yeah if you are qualified enough you will get great placement here.

- the infrastructure is good and events are organized without any issue

- New hostel should be built fast so that less students are there in a single room in hostel, so no one will have any privacy issue.
- college should take more help from alumni as they are always ready to help but college don't approach them.
- college should work more on its placement scene and should call more big companies

Placement Experience:
For my branch, our 2023 batch 65 percent of students placed, and the average package is 8.69 lakhs which is much better for a core branch. And currently also we are working to call new companies in the placement cycle for the batch of 2024.
Form 7th semester students become eligible for campus placement.
And 5th-semester students are also eligible for some companies which will provide internships plus PPO, which is also a great option.
Around 70 offers were made.
As our college mainly focuses on further studies so many students don't apply for placement.
This time highest was ZS which gave a package of 13.65 lacs.
I am talking only for my branch, other all department's average is above 12 lakhs.
I am thinking of government job preparation.

Placement Experience:
From the 7th Semester, students can get placements in different companies and various companies like Amazon, and Google has visited our college and made numerous offers. The Highest package one got from our college was 45 lakhs from Amazon and students get a basic package of 4-6 lakhs on average. More than 65% of students get placements every year and my basic plan after getting a degree is to secure a job by placement from college and gather experience.

- Labs are too old. Most of machines are not in working condition.
- Infrastructure is too old needs to renovate
- Many buildings at IIEST are of no use , they need renovation and improvement, Most of area is unnecessarily occupied.
Placement Experience:
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for placements.
PwC offers 25 students only in mechanical Engineering(around 10lpa CTC).
Amazon offers 1.5 cr (off campus) to a mechanical Engineering Student last year.
The average package was around 8Lpa last year.
80% of students got placed.

- Mess food is not that much tasty as they add too much sugar
- The food outside the campus is too expensive
- Some of the students gets the wrong habit of smoking
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible for campus placement from 2nd year onward but most of them got placed in 3rd or 4th year only .
Many company vists here like TCS, Google, HCL, UBER and many more.
My plans after getting degree is to higher studies

Placement Experience:
From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Companies like google, amazon, Microsoft, texas instruments, zs associates, Accenture, cognizant and 143 other companies visited the campus and 776 offers were made in 2022. The highest on-campus package was 45lakh offered by Microsoft for the SDE role. more than 95% was placed for CST and IT departments. I will sit for placement and will try to grab offers from top MNCs.

Students of the 6th and 7th semesters become eligible for campus placements. Many companies come for on-campus placements. The average on-campus package offered is around 6-8 lakhs and the highest package offered was around 50 lakhs on campus. Around 80% of students get placed every year some of them go for higher studies through GATE.

in my year around 80% of placements occurred with students getting multiple offers.

One of my friends is a final-year student at IIEST Shibpur. According to him, the placement last year has been great. Microsoft IDC (PPO), Mentor Graphics, CESC Ltd (PPO), Tata Steel (PPO), Bentley Systems completed their recruitment process on campus and hired more candidates than they did last year. Companies like Atlassian, Samsung R&D, and PwC are also expected to recruit on campus. A brief discussion about placements and other aspects of the institute are as follows.
Placements:
- Pre-final year students got internship offers from various firms like Microsoft R&D, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, and Texas Instruments this year. Other firms which will be having on-campus recruitment will most likely be hiring interns also. Hence, needless to mention that the placement scenario has continued its trend of improvement this year as well.
- Students have been hired in companies like Microsoft IDC, Cognizant, Samsung R&D, Infosys, TCS Research and Innovation, Z. S. Associates, etc. from campus placements. Off-campus placements also include Google (Bangalore).
- The median salary that has been offered is around 7 LPA and every one of the scholars participating in placements got placed. The placement cell improved and has become more proactive and efficient in training and placement of scholars.
Infrastructure:
- All departments, libraries and hostels are Wi-Fi enabled with decent speeds. The Science and Technology Department features a 1Gigabit backbone network.
- The rooms and labs are well maintained and have all the specified equipment. The central library is not extremely big but features a good assortment of useful titles. There are smaller departmental libraries also.
- The hostels are decent and clean but might be improved. They need indoor game facilities also. A replacement hostel for women has just been built and features a far better review.
- There are multiple canteens on Campus serving good quality food at reasonable rates and a CCD stall with significantly cheaper rates than usual.
- Other amenities include Gymnasium, Sports fields, Court and Infirmary.
Faculty:
- The college consists of highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers. They clear the doubts if consulted. Most teachers teach using both chalkboard and multimedia aids.
- There are multiple teachers and other lab assistants to guide the students during the lab classes.
- The course curriculum is aligned with most other national institutions and contains the essential topics necessary for the course.
The campus is lush green and located on the bank of the river Ganges. Right beside the institute is Botanical Gardens. Many events take place at the institute all year around. There are annual Techno-Management fest Instruo, Annual Cultural fests Rebecca and Anuranan, and departmental fests. Besides that, there are also sports events. Meritorious students can avail scholarships sponsored by the Alumni Association.
