I get swami vivekananda merit cum scholarship which is very helpful for me.
Placements the placement for computer science and technology department is really appreciable and since it is a college of national importance, some really highy package giving companies come for placements and take a good handful number of student.
Campus is very green and lovely. you would surely love the experience.

Dislikes

The hostel facility is horrible in our college we don't have many single seater rooms there were very limited which intern causes disputes among students and the food facility was also not good it's really very hard
Actually hostel facilities is not good in indian institute of enginnering science and technology the maintainnace is poor and my college is in west bengal, shibpur and for me i dont like bengal food as i am from andhra pradesh.
The hostels are a bit bad in condition. one has to face some problems regarding stay.

The campus is very beautiful and has lot of greenery
The lakes are very beautiful in the campus
The ghat near is very beautiful you can go and the place Kolkata you can never be bored of this place.

Dislikes

the mess is not good for lunch the Lunch is the worst meal
The hostel bathroom are not in good condition
The classroom should have ac because the weather is very hot here

Students becomes elegible for placements after 4th semester PPO is offered by many companies and at good LPAs from outside India as well as within India .the companies include Microsoft tata consultancy services,the highest lpa is provided by 45 lpa many companies give ppo in cs the average LPA is 19 lpa and around 93 percent placement rate is there .after degree I will join a MNC and pursue my career

The Campus and College life if IIEST,Shibpur.

Likes

The professors of the college teaches us with care.
The campus is very big and full of trees which is very important for mental growth.
Seniors are very helpful in our study and give us good advice for our exams.

Dislikes

Sime of the buildings of the college and the hostels are very old.
Sometimes hostel food quality become very poor.
The Gymnasium is remain closed from the covid 19 period.

About 82 % students from my department get placement every year.

Teachers of our college are very helpful in our studies.
The campus is very beautiful and full of trees.
The seniors help us in every field of our study and give us good advice regarding our examination .

Dislikes

Some of our buildings of our college are very old .
In our hostel the rooms are not so big and not suitable for living 4 students together .
The Gym of our campus are remain closed from the COVID 19 period .

I like the research faculty of my college which very top class

Placement Experience:

Placement of our college is very good. Placement starts from third year of the btech . Many companies like Microsoft, Google, PWC and Texas Instruments and many more good companies visit here . They offer good amount of ctc students. Highest package is from Microsoft that is 50 lakhs and average package is 12lakh.

the students from iiest mainly starts working as interns from the end of third year. There are various big companies like microsoft,tata,etc and the placements are quite decent in the college .In information technology department the placements are nearly 95%

My thoughts about my college ??

Likes

I like the infrastructure of this college . Its all buildings beautifully made . College is surrounded by hogli river . There are 3 ponds inside the campus.
Professor and its faculties are really helpful and learned.
Mess food is really nice as compared to other government college.

Dislikes

Four setter home , that is really uncomfortable to share it with 3 other people.
Campus size is small. Only 120 acres , it could be extended.
Gym is not equipped. If you want to exercise, you have to go outside for it .

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is average. Not so good and not so bad .highest placement of college is around 40-50 lakhs per annum and average goes 9-12 lakh per annum. Placement ratio is 70-80 percentage. Companies like tata , Google, Microsoft, vedanta arrive in this college.instead of it , many students prefer to study further. Some does mtech , some mba etc

In campus you find 3 lakes. which is one of the best things i found in college.
campus is near by city so you can go to city in weekends.

Dislikes

here you find a graveyard which is worst thing seen in college
washroom of hostel is not maintained properly
college is too old so building is also old

I have to choose college which near to my home town with good branch so i decide to chosse this college. In this college specially in my branch which is the department of electrical engineering gender ratio is 90;15.All the faculty members are good .

One of my friends is a final-year student at IIEST Shibpur. According to him, the placement last year has been great. Microsoft IDC (PPO), Mentor Graphics, CESC Ltd (PPO), Tata Steel (PPO), Bentley Systems completed their recruitment process on campus and hired more candidates than they did last year. Companies like Atlassian, Samsung R&D, and PwC are also expected to recruit on campus. A brief discussion about placements and other aspects of the institute are as follows.

Placements:

Pre-final year students got internship offers from various firms like Microsoft R&D, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, and Texas Instruments this year. Other firms which will be having on-campus recruitment will most likely be hiring interns also. Hence, needless to mention that the placement scenario has continued its trend of improvement this year as well.
Students have been hired in companies like Microsoft IDC, Cognizant, Samsung R&D, Infosys, TCS Research and Innovation, Z. S. Associates, etc. from campus placements. Off-campus placements also include Google (Bangalore).
The median salary that has been offered is around 7 LPA and every one of the scholars participating in placements got placed. The placement cell improved and has become more proactive and efficient in training and placement of scholars.

Infrastructure:

All departments, libraries and hostels are Wi-Fi enabled with decent speeds. The Science and Technology Department features a 1Gigabit backbone network.
The rooms and labs are well maintained and have all the specified equipment. The central library is not extremely big but features a good assortment of useful titles. There are smaller departmental libraries also.
The hostels are decent and clean but might be improved. They need indoor game facilities also. A replacement hostel for women has just been built and features a far better review.
There are multiple canteens on Campus serving good quality food at reasonable rates and a CCD stall with significantly cheaper rates than usual.
Other amenities include Gymnasium, Sports fields, Court and Infirmary.

Faculty:

The college consists of highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers. They clear the doubts if consulted. Most teachers teach using both chalkboard and multimedia aids.
There are multiple teachers and other lab assistants to guide the students during the lab classes.
The course curriculum is aligned with most other national institutions and contains the essential topics necessary for the course.

The campus is lush green and located on the bank of the river Ganges. Right beside the institute is Botanical Gardens. Many events take place at the institute all year around. There are annual Techno-Management fest Instruo, Annual Cultural fests Rebecca and Anuranan, and departmental fests. Besides that, there are also sports events. Meritorious students can avail scholarships sponsored by the Alumni Association.
