10 Oct, 2025 GATE 2026 Registration is ongoing for ME/ MTech/ PhD Admission 2026-27. The last date to register with a late fee @gate2026.iitg.ac.in has been extended to Oct 13, 2025. Further, GATE 2026 Exam will be conducted on Feb 7, 8, 14 & 15, 2026.

National Institute of Technology, Nagaland, is an autonomous institute established in 2010 and is approved by both UGC & AICTE. NIT Nagaland has been ranked 92 by the IIRF for the B.Tech category in 2025. On the other hand, Collegedunia ranked NIT Nagaland 119 under B.Tech category for the year 2025.

What is the total fees of the course and scholarship option available in the campus?

Tuition fees is 80000 but exception for SC, ST, OBC, EWS who has income less than 98000 for those it is free and hostal fees is 35000 for semester there is no other charges there special charges at joining time mainly for table chair and etc it's about 8000 You can so many scholarships according to teachers they will guide you everything everything is taken by college teachers

Techinal fest are majorly ekarkthin, flash mob, freshers day, Holi, Ganesh Chaturthi, science day, these are fests will be done according to the teachers The library limit is to 5000 books you can each and every book you need in college time The classrooms are bamboo classroom these are good Sports there are 4 grounds enough to play there are so many interior games also there

How to get admission in the college and what sets the college stand out ?

I written JEE Mains and I got 95.25 percentile in the year of 2019 and I got civil engineering department, here first we need to apply for college through nta websites and you need have income certificate and caste certificate if applicable, mainly you need to in time of college application date where you need to pay 35000 for changing of colleges or branches by round by round at last by confirming college you need to pay 35000 after that first 2 semesters are easy and same for everyone and after the exam difficulty will increase year by year I won't recommend Civil engineer to join in this college better to join near by college and I recommend ece and eie or cse these are good

About my college

Likes

College is neat and hygiene with many trees and plants surrounding the college
We are having full freedom in the college

Dislikes

My college was too far from my native place(home)
In my class there are very less girls when compared to boys

Admission:

I did not choose this college.In the josaa councillng I got admission in this college.In josaa there will be a set of colleges that we opt for .And then we will arrange the colleges in our prior order and the councilling process takes place

Better Review of my college

Likes

The ratio of boys and girl are little bit small but the ratio is 4/10 for boys and girls

Admission:

This college is good in compare to the other colleges at my jee rank . this college is good in all the manner like placement curriculum activities and other things. And the management of the college is also good . And in many collage ragging is not stoped but in this case my college is far better.

If you want to study hard then only join this else go for other Nit's which have better on campus oppurtunity

The only thing i liked for my college is the sunset and the mountains.
Slowly college coding culture is getting improved

Dislikes

Not great coding culture but from this year as we are in 2nd year trying to bring it
Clubs and socities is there but just for name there is not least activites

Admission:

So look i was getting mechanical in nit patna ,silchar etc and below mech in rest of the other nits but I joined because of the CSE as getting only in this but now I regret my decision because this college is not made for cse as their is not the culture of coding but ya things are improving .I hope in 2 to 3years this college will improve .I regret so much after joining the college that I was kind of depressed for one year.Now I made my mind jo hota hai ache ke liye hota hai so keep studying. You have to clear jee mains and to get cse for obc your rank should be below 50k and for general below 30 k and for locals nagas they get cse around 4 to 7 lakh rank. I didn't get rejected from other college like in JOSSA councling I get mech in Nit patna then I withdrawn .One of my shubchintak told me to do so and applied for this in csab and regret my decision

Our college is transparent, no partiality among anyone
It had different clubs for students engagement

Dislikes

Some of the electrical equipments don't work

Admission:

It was in my homestate. And getting a previllage to study in National institute is a great deal. Luckily I cleared the jee mains and got seat there. I opted for electrical as according to my interest and finding a way to pave my career

The distance and the travelling issue was the reason i didnt apply for other colleges. Regarding the eligibility , one can take admissions in nit only after getting through jee exams. And for masters one has to clear gate exam.

My college:A home away from home

Likes

Very good campus located at the foothills with beautiful greeneries and a mesmerizing view of sunset.
Good staff and workers with proper infrastructure.
Away from noises coming from the daily routine of the society.

Dislikes

Unavailability of a football field which was built just as I graduated.

Admission:

To get into any NIT you need to crack the JEE exam and your marks in that exam will decide which you'll get. JOSAA is the website to get the admission into NITs and it's quite a simple process to do it.

Campus is greeney and hostel mess is good
I liked the hostel of this college and campus is greeney

Dislikes

Library is too small and approx capacity is 30 student
In college there is no playing ground and also gym is close every time

Admission:

In jee main score must be greater than 90 percentile Application process through jee mains exam If you are in the sc/st category your tuition fee is free If you are in obc category your tuition fee is 2/3 rd of the total fee

Have to get 70% in 12th, have to appear for jee and I got 97 %tile and got this seat in csab round. There are no reservations for oc candidates other people have a reservation, like obc guys have 21% reservation here facilities are not good college have to improve in some aspects like infrastructure.

Does NIT Nagaland provide admission to its HS students?

Yes, it provides the admisison to Home States students too. For the B.Tech admissions at NIT Nagaland, candidates are required to appear for the JEE Main examination and participate in the JoSAA counseling for the final seat allotments. NIT Nagaland Charges a fee of INR 1.34 Lakhs per year for its B.Tech program. NIT Nagaland admission process involves other national level examinations too such as GATE, and IIT JAM for programs such as M.Tech and M.Sc respectively.

As per the previous analysis, the cutoff for the MTech course ranges between 205-377 for the various categories. NIT, GATE Cutoff 2023 for the General Category is 350 - 363 marks. NIT, GATE Cutoff 2023 for OBC Category is 333 - 339 marks. NIT, GATE Cutoff 2023 for EWS Category is 320 -379. NIT, GATE Cutoff 2023 for SC Category is 227 - 269 marks.
