Sharda University PhD admission is available for both Full-Time and Part-Time categories. Candidates opting for a full-time PhD program may be entitled to a “research fellowship/teaching assistantship” as per Sharda University rules. For PhD Admission candidates need to appear and qualify for the entrance test conducted by the authority for offering admissions to PhD programs. GATE/NET qualified (valid up to 2 years) candidates are exempted from the written test and must directly appear and qualify for the interview. Candidates securing qualifying marks in the written test also need to clear the interview conducted by the authority. Admission to PhD is offered at the cost of INR 100,000 per year.
Sharda University PhD Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must have cleared a post-graduate (PG) degree or the equivalent of a minimum duration of 2 years from a UGC-recognized Indian / foreign university in the respective discipline with a score of a minimum 55% or equivalent CGPA. A 5% relaxation in the score for SC/ST/OBC i.e. a minimum of 50% in PG degree or equivalent CGPA is allowed.
Sharda University PhD Selection Criteria
Sharda University offers admission to PhD program based on merit in the Sharda University Admission Test (SUAT) followed by a personal interview. Candidates with a valid selection from NET / GATE / SET / UET / any other equivalent test conducted by a GOI-accredited agency (to be decided by the selection committee) are exempted from the entrance test and get preference in selection. M.Phil. degree holders from UGC-accredited universities are also exempted from entrance tests.

Sharda University Admission to PhD program is offered in various fields such as Engineering, Allied Health Sciences, Law, Dental Sciences, Medical, Agriculture, Management, Basic Sciences and others. Admission to the PhD is merit-based.
- Sharda University PhD Entrance Test followed by an interview shall be conducted twice a year normally in June and December.
- The weightage for the entrance test and interview shall be 70% and 30% respectively.
- Only those students securing at least 50% in theory and 50% in the interview separately shall be considered for admission.
- Foreign candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria will be admitted after an online test and Interview.
Note: Candidates who are in regular employment in Academic institutions, Research Institutes/ Corporate/ Industry / Public Undertaking / Government Sector, at a level not less than the level equivalent to Assistant Professor, and have five years of experience will be eligible for admission through a specially conducted entrance test followed by interview as per the criteria

Sharda University PhD Course Details
Each candidate admitted with a Master's degree shall complete a minimum of 14 credits of coursework. This would include a course in research methodology of 04 credits as a compulsory course. In addition, research scholars may take, with the approval of the DRC and SRC, an eight (8) credit course. A PhD scholar has to obtain a minimum CGPA of 6.0 in the course work to be eligible to Register for a PhD and continue in the program. Candidates already holding an M.Phil. degree and admitted to the PhD program may be exempted from the PhD coursework by the SRC.
All candidates admitted to the Ph.D. programs shall be required to complete the coursework prescribed by the School / Department during the initial one or two semesters. However, in cases where a candidate had applied for transfer from another university/institution, exemption from course work can be considered by SRC subject to
