I pursued my UG course in IIFPT, so I continued my PG.It is an reputed research institution, good for research work, finest research work related to food processing is being performed.Admission process based on JEE score for UG and college entrance score for PG.Online mode of application UG class strength is 90seatsPG 12 students for FPE, 12 for FST and 12 for FSQA
I chose my course only because of my parents. Totally around 120 Students per year. Here teaching is at a very good level. Faculties are highly qualified and experienced persons. Exam schedules are maintained by Tamil Nadu agricultural university.
www.iifpt.edu.inIn this college we can explore ourselves, gain knowledge. Library is the best friend to explore. Admission process is through jossa. Regarding opening of the college is always updated in the above website. You guys can check the website for any updates or faculty.
I think good aspect is the exposure my college will give to Food Technology students, we have many departments including New product development, food packaging, food safety and quality assurance, etc. All these departments have their separate labs with high quality equipments where you can perform your research under the professors valuable guidance. If you join this college, believe me you have chosen the best college for food technology in India. But, my college is affiliated under TNAU, which means all the academic related should be decided by TNAU (ICAR accredited-one of the best agriculture college in India). My college is getting the Institute of National Importance (INI) status which means my college will soon be a deemed university. The main reason why I choose is I always want to do something different, everyone are going in same path like choosing CSE, ECE, EEE, etc so I want to choose different path in my life which is why I took Food Technology and another main reason is I am always fascinated about food science and its processing from farm to fork, I really wanted to get involved in those processes so I choose this course. Well while choosing this college I just used www.shiksha.com website for reviews. Also I contacted my college seniors through LinkedIn and asked their insights which helped me alot to choose the best.
Food processing sector has majorily focus on 3 Institutions in India IIFPT,CFTRI,NIFTEM. As IIFPT has a good research base providing M-Tech So I joined there. CFTRI only offers M.Sc Programme. NIFTEM is taken by GATE score. IIFPT is based on both gate and entrance score
There is no campus interview here but coaching for competitive exams are given and the students are trained as well after completion of UG one can prepare of PG entrance or any competitive exams and one can even become an entrepreneur .
Actually, I don't know about the placement yet as I'm in 1st year but they r giving us training for how to face the interview there is a placement cell in our college and they are separate faculties to give you training so don't worry about placements.
The professional course of food nutrition and dietetics is only in that college.thr addmission is on the montha of august.there are many industrial opportunities for that course.limited seats are there for this course.so the competition was high.one thing is the college is located outside the city.
There are no placements for BSc students inside the campus. They have to get prepared for several exams to get a job.
