SMIT Sikkim - An honest review

Fees and Financial Aid:

Every year the fees increases by 15 to 20% and it also includes the hostal and mess fees. Approx 20 lakhs is what I paid including all of the expenses for the completion of course The scholarships that are available are - The people of Nepal Bangladesh and Sikkim will get scholarship of 20% every year. Students who have completed diploma and want lateral entry admission can get a scholarship according to their diploma marks. There is no reservation based cholarship except for the locals and people from Nepal and Bangladesh

The yearly course fee is Rs 305000. The cost was acceptable. I did not require hostel fees and mess fees, as I was a day scholar. I had not taken any scholarship and did not receive financial assistance.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Fees were almost the same for all the years as given in the list at the time of joining in the booklet. Scholarships were given to students who had more than 90% in class 12th. Delay in fees was also accepted by the college. Most of the students got placed by the end of the month of October.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

The annual fee was 3,05,000rs. So the total fee for 4years was 12,20,000rs. Hostel fee had to be paid separately from academic fee. Scholarship in the form of fee concession is provided on the basis of PCM score secured in 12th. I got 30% concession because my score was above 90%.

A good and satisfying experience

Fees and Financial Aid:

The cost of engineering is 2.70 lac per annum (only tuition study fees). There is a merit-based system where scholarships are offered to students. On average over 60 students are able to avail these scholarships. On-campus internships are provided. IAESTE helps students get internships abroad too with a stipend ranging from 7000 INR to 60000 INR. Campus placements are overall at the rate of 95% with companies hiring by Microsoft, Dell, Wipro, etc.

It is affordable. It provides scholarships to the candidates. If loan needed it can be taken from various banks like HDFC, SBI, Axis etc. The fees are average 11 to 12 lakhs. financial assistance is also provided.
