Likes

Scholarships were available to students who scored first few ranks in the entrance exams, which were a great deal of help to them also, there are internships available through our mentors which is of great help.
Faculty are very good they teach well and they are very experienced with experience of 20 years, and fests happens every month and facilities are very good here like gym gardens library etc and place is very good
There are so many clubs like dance club, science club, maths club, etc and main beauty of the campus are very green and freedom of entry and exit anytime.

Dislikes

Firstly conduction of the entrance was very poor by nta.
At last the canteens. the foods of the canteens are ok but sometimes it too worst
I had a plan to do phd too but due to the academic stress and low facilities that this university is providing, i started to lose my interest on the subject.

Phd in Pondicherry University Port Blair campus

Likes

The people here come in big diversity and that is a great exposure for many.
The place here has a great ambience in the case of freedom.

Dislikes

The ex warden always makes a point of not questioning the authourities
The security staff interferes in personal matters
The mismanagement of infrastructures in the campus is a big issue which need to be addressed

Course Curriculum Overview:

In our Phd curriculum we have a syllabus which include the research methodology and a core subject. But the syllabus was not framed for a long time and the course work completion should be done within 6 months so that the rest of our Phd work would be smooth. But the delay has affected us very badly.

Honest opinion on Pondicherry University Port Blair Campus

The people here makes the campus life great. Not much is available within the campus and hence we engage in more face to face contact with people rather than sticking our faces in phones.
Taking into consideration my field this place is quite adapt for the department as Port Blair is vulnerable to many disasters and the place provides a wide variety of options to explore in the field of disaster Management

Dislikes

As we are far away from the main campus of Pondicherry University we are overlooked in many things and there are many basic needs which are not sufficed by the authorities.
There are quite many ego problems within the staff and dragging students inbetween that makes the life of students here hard.
The campus have been the same since 2018 and nothing new has been added to the campus hence bettering the infrastructure would be a great first step for the authorities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did my post graduation here itself and i believe that the syllabus could be updated and as this foeld is emerging and many major new technologies are being implemented in this field it would be helpful if it gets updated. The same can be said for equipments in the department as well and should be updated as well. The frequency of exams are quite comfortable and the results cone in a good pace as well. So to move to the next step is quite comfortable as well.

My experience in Pondicherry University

Likes

The green campus, student friendly environment, the reading room facility
Availability of recent books from library
The near by beach and peaceful atmosphere

Dislikes

Loneliness, alienation, disappointment in the daily routine
The transportation facility is very pathetic

Curriculum was best but the faculties in the department is very pathetic. Some several improvements have to be done. Because the current curriculum is not upto the professional quality. Improvement needed.

Campus climate is good as University is big
Student diversity in college, people from all over India being present

Dislikes

There's no AC facility in hostel rooms..
No hot water and laundry facilities provided

The course is really good with helpful faculty and guest lectures and workshops with best equipments and studios. One can get into movie field and multimedia industry after completion of this course. This course provides basic aspects of photography, videography and audiography.

Highly diversed environment from every corner of the country
Late night hostel life is good even for singles

Dislikes

Political Ideologies of people from KL and TN
Find hard to mix with people from southern side of India

Before the end of third semester the placement cell becomes active and companies start visiting the campus Companies mostly Banking and Sales come for recruitment Last year highest placement was of 13-15L PA After COVID placement has dropped to 40-50% One can go for UGC nET exam before finishing their degree for job and career security.

Freedom, you can enter and exit in hostel at any time
Events, many events are conducted and it include sports and cultural events
Exposure, we can meet many people across the country

Dislikes

Mess, quality of mess food is very poor, not recommended
Faculty, some faculties have ego issues that will affect academics
Road, roads inside the university is only average level

Placement is there but its very difficult to get placed companies like federal bank, deloit are done there placement visit 2students got placed, i would like to do a phd in commerce after finishing my masters

Campus in midnights its soo good to enjoy the weather in midnights
Friends are the most important persons here, we can live alone but sometimes friends are the good supporters in everything like in difficulty of study or in love things and soo on
Celebrating Birthday of our friends at exactly 12'o' clock, making birthday boy/girl happy and having fun on that day.

Dislikes

Three persons in a room is not comfortable in hostel, if its two it could be better for study and anythings
Harmful dogs in hostels or university should be taken out from campus so that dog bites should reduce
Placements should be given for every department but here few departments dont have future placements

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have choosed the Statistics course, the course and the syllabus is well designed. If we learn the syllabus in a good way, we can have many applications like analysing data, or further it will used for higher studies or used for research papers. If we learn the subject we can easily get on to placements in different companies.

Library and reading room facility is excellent
ground and game exposure is good in university
Departement is excellent considering the faculty and academic standard

Dislikes

Gym is very poor and dont even have proper equipments

I Have complited my MBA from Distance in year 2021 but i received mu mark sheet and certificate with wrone name. Insted of my name they have put my father's name. So even after sending mails of like 26 times and sending DD of Rs 1100/- they have not done anything and there is no reply in mail and no one oiks up the call. I am so frustrated and loosing hope. I really dont know when this will be corrected..
