Fees and Financial Aid:

I am a student in vssut,burla.the fees structure of the university is quite affordable compared to many other engineering colleges in odisha.the fees varies slightly depending on the catagory (regular or self financing ) and whether the student is hostel resident or day scholar. For regular boarder,the semester fees is around 17000-18000,while regular day scholars,it's about 11000-12000 per semester.for self financing students the fees is higher around 38000 for boarders and 32000 for day scholar per semester .A one time refundable caution deposit is around 2000-3000 is also paid during the admission . The fees structure for the first year program is divided into two parts for my branch(EEE). One is Regular and another is Self Sustaining. Regular fees is 38,825. But Self Sustaining is quite higher 61,125. This division of fees is purely based on the availability of seats on each section. The tuition fees is 44,100 per semester (SSC).

during the first year i have paid 89000/- as fees for my college it's include college nad hostel fees.i am non tfw student so i hav not discount on my fees. if some one is getting admission with tfw then he will get 20% discount.the fees is same for all student it's not differ in category wise.

For computer branches the syllabus is little outdated and the labs are also very poor.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees are of two types one for regular courses and other is self sustaining course there are also tuition fee waiver scheme for both categories The total fees for regular courses per semester is 21000 and mess fee of 17000 total 38000 The total fees for self sustaining course is 44000 and mess fee of 17000 total 61000 per semester for tution fee waiver scheme of regular courses 6000 is waived and total fee including mess will be 32000 and for ssc tfw the total fees will be 36000 There is not any scholarship provided by institute. But there are various state and national scholarship available for applying.

Which is the best branch in VSSUT, Burla, Odisha?

VSSUT is a great place for UG studies. But a degree from this college isn’t sufficient in most cases. So it is usually better to opt for higher studies at a prestigious college.

For an M.Tech or MS, CS/IT are the best branches. This is because they offer endless opportunities in research and jobs.
For an MBA, Production Engineering is the right branch. Its curriculum contains elements of Management Studies. Also, scoring high grades is comparatively easier.
For UPSC, Economics, Law, etc, any branch is equally suitable.
To grab high paying jobs, Mechanical and Production are the best. But there is a fierce competition as core companies hire just 2-3 students each year.
For a CS/IT student who participates in Competitive Programming, goes for ACM ICPC, and maintains good grades, getting off campus placements in Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc. isn’t very difficult. A forum has been set up for competitive programming where the seniors provide good guidance on problem solving.

Make sure to go for a branch that interests you. This does play a huge role in deciding your career prospects.
