VSSUT Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) offers a Bachelor’s degree in Technology under 11 different specialization subjects with a duration of 4 years. The university also offers 5 years Integrated B.Tech+M.Tech course under two different specializations.

Admission to B.Tech. courses of the University are based on the merit in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), Govt. of Odisha. The application process for Odisha JEE starts in the month of March every year. Candidates can apply online application for Odisha JEE.

VSSUT offers M.Tech programme under 20 different specializations with the a duration of two years. The intake capacity of each M.Tech programme is 18 seats.

Selection for admission to any M.Tech programme is done on the basis of scores obtained in GATE. For the leftover seats, the college accepts direct admission, selection for which is done on the basis of scores secured in B.Tech or Equivalent Examination.

Key Points:

• SC/ST candidates are considered separately for seats reserved for the purpose
• If a candidate is interested to apply for M.Tech Admission in more than one discipline/specialization (Department), then he/she has to submit separate applications with requisite fees. In no case, any candidate shall be considered more than one department with one application. Admission shall be carried out strictly according to the merit and choice of specializations chosen during the submission of the application.

The University offers various Postgraduate level courses in different fields of Science and Technology.

The M.Sc programme is provided with three different specializations for which the course period is two years, whereas, the MCA programme is offered for a period of three years. A 5 years Integrated B.Sc + M.Sc programme is also provided by VSSUT.

Admission to the M.Sc. courses are made through an open selection process through academic career evaluation. The evaluation of candidates for the purpose of admission will be based on merit of High Secondary and Graduation or Equivalent level.

Application form for the M.Sc programme can be downloaded from website The university also offers Master in Computer Application degree for a period of three years. Admission to the MCA programme is done on the basis of merit in Joint Entrance Examination by the Govt. of Odisha.

VSSUT also offers Master of Philosophy degree under three different specializations which is for a period of one year. The intake capacity of each M.Phil programme is 10 seats.

To apply for admission in M.Phil, a candidate needs to have Master’s degree in the related discipline. Selection is done on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying examination.

VSSUT offers Doctoral level programmes in the field of Engineering under 13 different specialization subjects.

For admission to the Ph.D. programme, aspirants need to undergo the process of selection through the Departmental Academic Committee (DAC) on the basis of overall academic career, written test and interview.

Key Points:

1. Full time students with External Fellowship and VSSUT faculty members are exempted from this selection process
2. The candidates who have qualified GATE/NET/Inspired fellowship (DST)/Teacher fellowship (UGC) and other fellowships from Govt. Agencies are exempted from the Written Test and they will be given preference in the selection of Ph.D admission.
   • They are required to appear only interview before DAC to assess their research aptitude, ability to work in a team, subject interest and availability of supervisors and facilities in the Department before final selection
3. The Selection for the candidates who have not qualified in GATE/NET/Inspired Fellowship (DST)/Teacher Fellowship (UGC) and other fellowships from Government agencies, shall be on the basis of merit of Career marks, Written test and Interview

• The interested candidates may download the application form available in the University Website and submit a hard copy of the signed completed application alongwith non-refundable demand draft of Rs.500/- (Rs.200/- in case of SC/ST candidates) in favour of,

VSSUT, Burla payable at SBI, Burla (Code - 2034) or Syndicate Bank (Code - 8062) and send the same by Speed Post only so as to reach the Dean, PGS & R, VSSUT, Burla before the last date of submission

• The envelope containing the application should be superscribed as “Application for Programme” along with the name of the Department (Specialization) as applicable.
