Currently, VSSUT has 11 Hostels out of which 6 are boys hostels while 5 are girls hostels.
Boys
There are 4 old boys' hostels and 2 new ones. The old ones are West(Kratu), East(Atri), North (Vasistha) and South (Marichi), the condition of which isn’t very good. The rooms are in poor condition and the food served is the same every day. However, it has a well-maintained Central Garden and huge cricket fields. Additionally, you will find a TT room, TV room and Common room in all these four hostels. The North Hostel and South Hostels also have a library. The new hostels are Pulaha and Pulasthya which are designed excellently and have modern facilities.
Girls
VSSUT has 5 girls' hostels namely Anuradha, Arundhati, Visakha, Rohini, and Angira. From what I have heard from my fire dad, the food served is pathetic, even worse than boys' hostels.
Summing up, I would like to say that hostel life, be it anywhere, is about adjusting and creating memories with limited resources.
No, officially there is no wifi faculty at the hostels of VSSUT Burla. However, there are high-speed LAN connections that can be connected to a personal Wi-Fi router. The speed is pretty high. A few girls' hostels have wifi facilities only in their common rooms.
VSSUT Burla has 3 girls' hostels, each with its pros and cons.
All the 3 hostels are in close proximity to the college and students can stay out till 7 PM. Hope the information was useful.
The hostel facilities in VSSUT are excellent and the mess serves good quality food better than most engineering colleges. Usually, Dal, rice, and papas are served every day. Items that are changed every day include paneer, chicken, tadka, egg curry, cauliflower chili, chicken and paneer chili, and Manchurian. On special occasions, ice cream, patties, and masala papad are served in the first-year hostel.
The main issue VSSUT students have to deal with is the inconsistent water and electricity supply. The hostel provides LAN wires but students have to buy a router.
Overall, the hostels are well-maintained and surrounded by greenery offering a good environment.
Hostel Welcome is an event organized at VSSUT Burla at the beginning of the academic year to welcome new students to the university's hostels. During this event, students are given a tour of the hostel facilities and are introduced to the staff and other students living in the hostel.
Additionally, there may be various activities and events planned to help students get to know one another and feel more comfortable in their new environment.
This even ensures a healthy interaction between juniors and seniors. This will be a very memorable event so make sure to enjoy it!
