OUAT, the second oldest agricultural university in India, offers a scenic environment conducive to study. Admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate courses involves an entrance exam, contributing 50% of the selection criteria, and career marks from the 10th and 12th grades, each contributing 25%. The horticulture course is a highlight, focusing on the cultivation and post-harvest practices of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. The university boasts a diverse, experienced, and student-friendly faculty, including notable professors like Dr.
Pradyumna Tripathy and Dr. Pyearamid Kumar Panda. Undergraduate course fees for a free merit seat are 54,000, with opportunities for cost sharing and other quotas available. OUAT organizes placements, involving written tests, group discussions, and personal interviews. At least 5-10 students secure on-campus placements annually, and a 6-month internship with a 15,000 stipend is offered in the final year for practical factory knowledge. Merit-based scholarships are available to 15 students each semester, and student loans are offered through a partnership with SBI at an affordable interest rate.
