Remarks

It's the best college I have attended till now. Every faculty is very friendly and come to help anytime in any manner even in silly things. It helped me to face the world after my graduation, it is sufficient to describe it's importance for the studentsm

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is decided by an apex institution of India which is ICAR. Time to time it get changed according to the need. We get to study all about Horticultural courses and apart from that being branch of Agriculture some courses of Agriculture is also taught to us. This structure is designed so as to help us in appearing different competitive exams. Our final year is devoted towards industry specific exposure and less course works which let us have vast experience regarding them. But like other technical colleges we are not so much into industries as we are here to help the agrarian society of country. It's like 40% industries and 60 percent village level exposure with different farmers. Yes, we also have very good oppertunities to secure in campus placements in different agricultural private companies like Bayer, OFF I etc. We also got two tours in 2nd and 3rd years where we went to north and south India to visit different agricultural organizations in our country.

Placement Experience

3

Our placement was pretty good and now it's even better. Not sure about all the companies. But every year at least 5-10 students get placed on campus. In the recruitment process there are several processes according to different companies like written test, GD, PI etc. No I haven't availed any internship.

College Events

4

We have two main events every year apart from other holy celebrations. The two are Festiculture (our cultural event) and annual sports. Being a college with not huge strength of student its quite moderate in population. But anyone who will attend it will cherish to their hearts. Every year we came across new talents with huge round of applauds. The winners of both the events get nominated for state level events and then for nationals. The events were so lively that we wait eagerly every year for them and start preparing and practising month before.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is average with compared to other colleges. Each year it get increased. I am not sure about the current fee structure. The fees are paid as demand drafts in college. There is no other fees/ charges to secure admission. Yes the fee-breakdown is transparent and is directly displayed in our college notice-board.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes only the meritorious students get scholarships every semesters. Apart from that no other specified scholarships provided to students.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is boys: girls that is 2:3. All the students comes from different areas of our States. Some reserve seats are there for national students who come here from outside state through national exam. All are from diverse group with respect to economy, race, ethnicity, relogion etc. But we isn't give a damn thought about it. Everyone mix with each other with equal importance and without discrimination.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes. All students are hostelers. We have enough hostels (2 for boys and 3 for girls) to accomodate the students. We get sharing rooms. We have all the basic facilities like 24x7 water, electricity, gym, 3 meals which is dealt by the students etc. Now there is provision of washing maching. But hostel fooding is separate.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a strong alumni network. Our college started from year 2008 so first batch graduated in 2012. From then till now everyone is linked in our network and it help us a lot in placement, study, hangout and everything. It helped us in getting jobs in our state also by changing the method of choosing students for jobs.

Admission

The course Horticulture is just unique in itself and I also have greater affinity towards biology. Only one member from my family tree was in Horticulture related job, who is also going to be retired soon. This course is related to cultivation of only fruits, vegetables, flowers/ ornamental and also their post harvest practices. Now comes the factors for choosing the institution. The university OUAT which my college belongs to is the second oldest agricultural university in India after GBPUAT. The college is in such an scenic area where we can focus more in study rather than indulging in hanging out lavishly. Above all the faculties were renowned for their teaching. Lastly the procedure of admission. It consists of two parts. First entrance exam marks out of 200, of which 50% of the secured mark is calculated. Then comes career marks of 10th and 12th. 25 percent of secured marks (percentage) is calculated and added to the entrance mark. Then all the three marks are calculated and merit list is made. Then counselling done where we get to chose our college from different streams and colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture is one of the important and relevant subjects out of all. If we say about Indian context then most of the people are dependent on agriculture. So in India it's relevance is very high. This curriculum consists all type of subjects like agronomy, soil science, economics, marketing, pathology, genetics and breeding, horticulture etc. this course is more based on practical than the theory. In our curriculum the mid sem occurs in the middle of the semester which is approx march in winter semester and in September- october in monsoon semester and the end semester exam held in end of the semester which is in December in monsoon semester and may in winter semester.

I generally loved how they showed they give 100% placements. But there is not any. The teaching methods however is very good as they give us mainly practical knowledge and skill based education. Which really helps.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As India is a agricultural country most people depends on agriculture so I choose this course that I think it might have more scope. Through this course, we covered both theory and practice; we planted crops, prepared the field, applied manure to the soil, and irrigated the field. The difficulty is not too hard, and there are about 4 exams in a year, which is very good. In this course we must visit the village and interact with village people know their problems and try to find solutions. In our college we are less interactive with village farmers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Agriculture course is highly vast and informative. This course actually provides economic knowledge about the food we consume in our daily life and also provides the information about how they are grown and taken care of by our hardworking farmers. And talking about the difficulty level it's actually easy and we just have to get involved in this course as much as we can. Improvement this course requires is to give proper guidance to our farmers and also to provide them with proper wages they deserve.
