Course Curriculum Overview

3

As India is a agricultural country most people depends on agriculture so I choose this course that I think it might have more scope. Through this course, we covered both theory and practice; we planted crops, prepared the field, applied manure to the soil, and irrigated the field. The difficulty is not too hard, and there are about 4 exams in a year, which is very good. In this course we must visit the village and interact with village people know their problems and try to find solutions. In our college we are less interactive with village farmers.

In June in our college we celebrate annual day and the next Day is DJ night. It's very enjoyable and everyone enjoyed it a lot. There is a library in our college and every book related to agriculture is available in the library and once issued you can keep with for 15 days and after that you have to renew it. Smart classroom with smart board and AC in classroom. We have a basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court, and cricket field on our campus.

Three students in a room with 2 fans and some rooms one one fan 4 to 6 light and three cupboard provided. Everyone has their bed, study table, and chair. For every month, around 3500 mess bill and food is average. Hostel is available for all students and if you wants to rent a room it is very difficult to get because it's a rural area. For a hostel, you have to pay an average of 15000 per year.

Admission

I had opted for the College of Agriculture Bhubaneswar, but due to my rank, I didn't get Bhubaneswar, and I got the College of Agriculture Chiplima. There was another college, the College of Agriculture Bhawani Atana. I didn't choose this because at the time of my admission to Bhawani Atana College, there was no ICAR accreditation, so I chose Chiplima College. I have only opted for OUAT, so I didn't get rejected from any colleges. The admission process in OUAT is first they conduct a entrance examination then, according to rank students select their branches.Their are several branches in OUAT like veterinary, fishery, agriculture, horticulture, forestry, b.tech agriculture, community science etc . Eligibility is in +2 PCM or PCB and career mark of 10th class and 12th class added in total mark. OUAT entrance total mark 200. 25Percent from 10th class and 25Percent from 12th class and 50Percent from entrance. To get a seat in OUAT, the student must have a good career mark; otherwise, it will be very difficult.

Faculty

3

About 25 to 30 faculties in our college and students about 250. Some faculties are very interactive, and some just do their job, which means they complete their course and are not interactive at all. In a year, there are 2 semesters, and in each semester, 2 exams: one is a mid-semester exam, and the other is an external exam practical exam. Almost all students passed the exam and this course is related to agriculture about the crops ,pest , climatic conditions, soils, genetics, breeding, plant physiology etc.

I generally loved how they showed they give 100% placements. But there is not any. The teaching methods however is very good as they give us mainly practical knowledge and skill based education. Which really helps.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Agriculture course is highly vast and informative. This course actually provides economic knowledge about the food we consume in our daily life and also provides the information about how they are grown and taken care of by our hardworking farmers. And talking about the difficulty level it's actually easy and we just have to get involved in this course as much as we can. Improvement this course requires is to give proper guidance to our farmers and also to provide them with proper wages they deserve.
