NIT Jamshedpur Review

Likes

The ambience, no ragging culture, the beautiful campus.
Its class room are just awesome, all are AC classroom.
Its central library is quite big and beautiful

Dislikes

The campus lacks greenary and is dusty and very warm.
The distance between hostel and academic building is quite large
The mess food is just average and sometimes bad.

Campus placements are offered and it's fascinating.The average package is above 10 lakhs and students from 6 semester become eligible to appear for interviews and take offers. The placement percentage is more than 95% and it's great.

Social life and given free time to explore things
Infrastructure is very good and ac is everywhere in campus ,so u feel good in summer
Placement is also very nice and supportive

Dislikes

No places to visit in jamshedpur,there are very few places
I think the teachers quality should be a bit low,faculty should be changed bit
Cleanliness and food quality of the hostels are a bit low

Likes

High Placement and internship Opportunities.
Vibrant and lush Green Campus And it's proximity to Industries.
Supportive Faculties and relax course curriculum.

Dislikes

College Should Work on Improving Infrastructure.
Mess Food quality Should be improved and should be regularly checked.
Outdated Course Curriculum. The course curriculum should be improved as per the demand of modern technology.

Placement Experience:

Placement Is one the best Part of NIT JAMSHEDPUR. Placement wise , we can easily rank nit jsr among top 5 nits. Students are eligible for FTE offers from 6th semester onwards . Talking about FY23, the placement percentage was close to 98% and the overall package of College was 12Lpa Companies like Atlassian, Samsung, Amazon,Nykaa, Mesho, Uber, Zepto, Tata Steel, Jsw Steel, Optum recruited students from nit jsr. A total of around 700 offers were made in FY23. I am planning to go for higher studies after my btech degree.

I liked the Campus and Lecture halls ,academics
I liked the academic division is too good
There is research culture unless you are willing to do it

Dislikes

There is not much coding culture in the colege
The Teachers are not much student oriented .They are highle qualified but cant teach
There is absolute grading .So,scoring a good CGPA is a very high deal

Likes

Its phenomenal track record in campus placements with core sector also getting decent placements
The strong clubbing culture of the college whether it's for sports, cultural, social cause or for tech enthusiasts
Fests conducted here are exquisite and phenomenal.

Dislikes

This college lacks a bit in infrastructural development though things are changing rapidly
Campus is compact in size and you will find majority of the buildings in a comparatively small sample size

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placements during 7th semester with some also grabbing it in their 6th semester. In Nit jsr, campus placements are one of the core things that the college administration boasts of. There is almost 100% placements in each branch with a decent average package per branch. In software domain, companies like Amazon , atlassian etc visit the college annually while in the core domain companies like qualcomm, tata powers, vedanta marks their presence in the college. Highest package for this year was bagged by 5 students of 83lpa provided by the australian Company atlassian.

The placement at NIT Jamshedpur is very good , it offers the students 100% placement in all branches
Teachers are well qualified , most of them are Ph.D. degrees and are knowledgeable.
Seniors are very helpful in each and every moments

Dislikes

The Infrastructure is not up to the mark
During JEE preparation ,teachers are determined to make you learn but here professors hardly give attention to whether you learned or not
NO mess food in the world is good and no mess food is bad .Its we who get used to the food items they provide regularly and then start hating after few months

Placement Experience:

The best part of this college is placement. 100% students are placed from this college this is the best part of my college. From 7semester students become eligible for campus placememt , Amazon,Patym, Aakash,Tata motors, Hero, Bajaj, Flipkart,Microsoft ,Samsung. Optum, HSBC , KPMG are some companies to visited this college for placement offered.

Placement is just wow like I am sure if I work on any any skill I am sure to get placed.
Sports and extracurricular activities like business tycoon and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Green lush campus and only not to have ac classrooms

Dislikes

Little politics is done regarding monetary controls
I don't like the menu of mess food and no night life outside campus
Intime of hostels at night is too early due to open campus.

College life at NIT JAMSHEDPUR

Likes

Hostel in first year was very good and we get ample opportunities to interact with one another
Mess food was also decent . Since mess was in hostel itself so it saved a lot of time
Faculties were also very learned and supportive and they helped us to grow in our academics and also helped us in our projects.

Placement Experience:

The placement of our college and specially our branch is very good. In our branch, mechanical engineering, the average package is of 9 lakh and almost all (94%) students get placed. Core companies such as tata motors, tata steel, jusco, jsl, and lot other companies visit our campus for recruitment.

Campus Life and Placements at NIT JAMSHEDPUR

Fests : The cultural, Technical and Sports aspect of the college is good and array of events hosted throughout the year.
Hostels: The Single rooms with attached balcony and view of hills what much you can ask for.
Academic and Placements: Academics is chi and ample opportunity to work on your interested domains. Placements are competitive with top NITS AND IITS, one of the best in the country specially for core.

Dislikes

Summer Weather: During summer it's become to hot around the campus.
Labs: Labs equipment are old generation want to hand over experience on the new generation equipments.
Campus Management: the campus if more than 320+ acres still the management of campus is poor.

Placement Experience:

From semester 5th students are eligible for campus placements (internships with PPO) and from 7th to 6 MONTH + FTE/PPO. There are many companies visited campus over more than 400 and placement percentage is 97+ overall, Mechanical had a 98 percentage placement with Average of 10.5 Lakhs, common known companies are, Amazon, BNY, Atlassian, GE, Tata Steel, Flipkart, Paypal, ICICI, ZS, EXONN MOBIL etc. Highest package made is : 86 Lakhs Annual I want to ppt for higher studies or Entrepreneurship after the degree.

Our academic building is very good and technology built.
The hostel rooms are good according to me

Dislikes

Our campus is open campus which is not good at all
The mess facilities in terms of quality needs improvement
Lack of maintenance is there in terms of grasses and wastelands .

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are very good and internship programs also. Actually most of the students joins NIT Jamshedpur because of its placement history only . The college have a great alumni network and a tag of jamshedpur city also as Tata . There is 100% placements in Mechanical branch and the average package is around 13LPA .

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.

Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.

Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.

Academics

The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students.
Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well.
The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained.

The TechnoManagement fest, Ojass, and Cultural fest, Culfest are the major events of the institute. There are several automobile teams as well, like Team Phoenix, the aircraft team; Team Rays, the hybrid car team and Team Daksh, Off road car team.
