NIT Jmashedpur - good for placement... But campus life is not so good

First of all, placement of NIT Jsr is very fantastic with average package of 27Lpa in CSE department. And here placement of core branches is also very good due to its location in industrial city of TATA. Many students of mechanical or production get placement in TATA Steel. Exam is conducted on time as it is sheduled in academic calendar. We face no delay in exams like other government colleges. Also class is conducted regularly without any type of irregularity which we see in small government colleges. Hostels are very good at NIT jsr. For male students, you will get single room hostel from 2nd year. By the way one new hostel will be ready by this year (2024). And after that 1st year boys will also get single room hostel. For B.tech, there is total 8 semesters in 4 years. In each semester, two exams are taken. Mid sem is of 30 marks and end sem is of 50 marks. And w0 marks are internal which is based on class test, quizes, attendence, assignments, etc.

Recently, many students from 2nd year only have got internship in amazon for software development. Students get internship in 3rd year. Many students gets internship at 30-50 thousand. But you have to maintain 8cgpa to give interview for internship .

Students become eligible for placements in 7th semester. Total number of offers made are around 700. Many reputed company hires from our college such as TATA, AWS, Amazon,etc. Highest package of this year was 83 LPA. In CSE department, 97% of students get placed in our college. And rest other are also decent with above 90% placement. Average package in CSE department is 27lpa. While overall average package is 15lpa.

Tuition fee of NIT Jsr is 63000 approx per sem. Hostel fee is 15000 Mess fee is 16000 And institute fee is 10000 So, total fee per sem is 104000. There is also fee remision based on criteria. If you are SC/ST candidate then you will het 100% fee remision on tuition fee. Means you have to only pay about 41k. Or your parents' annual income is less than 1lakh. Then also you will get 100% fee remission on tuition fee. If your parents income is between 1 lakh to 5lakh, then you will get 2/3rd remission on tuition fee. You will have to pay total about 63k approx per sem. For annual income greater than 5 lakh, there is no remission.

In our college, three major fests are organised. 1. OJASS :- This is the technical fest of NIT Jsr which is conducted in month of April. 2. Culfest :- This is the cultural fest which is organised in month of february 3. URJA :- This is the sports fest whose duration is for about two months and finals are conducted on last three days. It is held in month of September - November. Also there are many small other fests are organised such as CDS, Diwali Night, Branch fests,etc. There is a Lecture Hall Complex in our college, in which classes of all branches and batches are conducted. Our classroom is updated with all the technologies such as projectors, centralized AC, Proper speakers on roof. Our college have a library which have approx 50k books. With studies, sports facility is also very good in our college. We have indoor and outdoor badminton court, Basketball court, cricket ground, football ground, hockey ground, Tennis court, open gym.

In first year, students get double bed room with two almirah, one for each. And a common table and chair. From 2nd year students get single bed room with one bed, almirah, table, chair. There is LAN connection for internet in the rooms. Meal quality is not very good. It is average that you can survive for four years. There is a fixed menu of the mess which contains different meals. You will not have to register for the hostel. You will automatically get hostel and room allocated before coming to the campus. Only you have to pay the fees after the allocation when you cime to the campus for physical reporting. For 1st year students it is mandatory to live in hostel. You can't opt out hostel in 1st year. From 2nd year if you want to live outside then there are many rooms available outside of campus. And also there are many tiffin facilities outside of campus.

Admission in NIT Jsr is done through Jossa counselling which. You can participate in Jossa counselling if you have qualified in JEE-Mains exam that is held in month of January and in April. Application form is available in month of September or October( you have to check the notifications on JEE Main website). Student should be appearing or passed class 12h with PCM or PCMB. And you are eligible if you are in 12th appearing or 1 year after 12th exam or 2 year after 12th. After that you will become ineligible for JEE mains exam. In one year, exam is conducted 2 times, and your best rank among two attempts is selected for final result. Exam is conducted for 3 hours. Paper have 3 parts :- Physics, Chemistry and Maths Fee of application form is 1000 for Gen/Obc and 500 for all female and Sc/St.
