- JEE Main 2025 exam dates have been announced for the January Session. The exam is scheduled from January 22 to January 31, 2025. Students seeking admission to B.Tech/ B.Arch/ B.Planning courses can apply online through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply is November 22, 2024. Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main 2025 qualified candidates will be eligible to sit for JEE Advanced 2025 (conducted for engineering admission to IITs).

Likes
- Sports grounds are of decent size and with excellent weather it's fun to play in them
- Classrooms are very nicely built, though now the space is less, so the newer ones are being made is a hurry
Dislikes
- Some professors are very strict and don't want to listen to students
- The administration is making decisions without asking students anything.
Fees and Financial Aid:
I am not eligible for any scholorship so I pay the full fees, that is roughly 1,50,000 per semester. The breakdown is 1,00,00 tuition fees, rest is divided into hostel fees, maintainence fees, mess and other aminities. scholorship is available on the tuition fees only.
Likes
- The study pressure is not too much like other IIT's.
- Availability of buses at proper time for travel between North amd South campuses and even to Mandi.
Dislikes
- The quality of food in mess and canteen is a bit average.
Fees and Financial Aid:
For the fee structure, each semester, students need to pay around 1lakh 30thousands, which include their tution, hostel and mess fees. Their ars various scholarship programmes for girls, and cast students.
Likes
- Career and Placement cell - my main concern for joining IITMandi was placement, and it was a write decision to join it . In 2023 , the median package for data science and engineering branch was 32 lpa and average was also similar to it .
- Upto date courses- The courses are updated and as per the industrial level . In the world AI and ML , there are three courses on Data science (1 , 2 and 3) compulsory for each branch , so there would be more interdisciplinair work.
Dislikes
- Connectivity- there is connectivity problem between north and south campus , although a shorter path has been made but its not completed
- Branch change- from 2024 onwards there will be no branch change . I think its bad decision as it was giving opportunities to the students to change their branches if they dont like the course structure .

The complete fee structure as follows: There is admission fees compulsory 18000 Then the fees have mainly two components tuition fees and mess -hostel fees Tuition fees : Gen/obc ~ 40000 Family income between 1-5 lakhs=40000/3=13333 Sc/st/ family inncome less than 1 lakh =0 Mess-hostel fees: Its same for all ~24000 There are many scholarships provided by the institute like On the basis of family income If its less than 1 lakh than there is no tuition fees If its between 1-5 lakhs than there is only 1/3rd fees applicable And with time to time , the dean student office email us about the different kind of scholarships for different students like for girls students there are 2-3 scholarship , for disabled people there are scholarships and there is one sbi office in the campus which readily give loans on minimal interest.

- Admin unsupportiveness towards students.
- Frequently occurring landslides and remote location of the college
Fees and Financial Aid:
The fee structure is 1.5 lakhs approximately per semester. Total semesters are eight so it is somewhat between 8 to 10, lakhs fee hikes can be seen sometimes in accommodation hostel and other domains but not in tuition fee. It is not fairly regular, but sometimes it happens, compulsory charges include Gymkhana fees, medical fees, et cetera, scholarships are provided within different brackets of income and For Gen OBC. On campus internship offers are very good. Almost all the students get internships in various reputed companies with a good stipend starting from 30,000 per month up to 1,00,000 or two lakhs per month from a duration of minimum two months to maximum duration of six months.

- Its location as it is situated in the lapse of nature.
- It has a very strong and efficient academics.
Dislikes
- we have to share rooms with others for two years.
- we have to travel by bus from mandi to reach campus which is tedious.

The tuition fee here currently is 100000 and the hostel and mess fee account for 22000. But if your family's annual income is less than 100000, you will get a 100% fee waiver on tuition fees but hostel and mess fees you must have to pay.

- Beautiful Campus, surrounded by the mountains, and living in a peaceful environment.
- Professors and other faculty members at IIT Mandi encourage students to participate in interdisciplinary activities and gain hands-on experience to prepare them for the real world.
Dislikes
- As the campus is located on the foot hills of the mountains many services are limited. There is no food delivery like zomato or swiggy. Nearest town Mandi is also 1 hour ride from the campus.
- In the winters it can get extremely cold here.

Which is better, data science engineering or electrical engineering at IIT Mandi?
Both Data Science Engineering and Electrical Engineering at IIT Mandi are excellent programs with their own strengths and unique opportunities. The nature and job opportunities of both programs are poles apart.
Data Science Engineering focuses on the application of statistical and computational methods to extract insights from data. It covers topics like probability, visualization, numbers, algorithms, and such.
Electrical Engineering on the other hand is related to the design and development of electrical systems, such as power generation and distribution, control systems, and communications.
