I choose IIT MANDI for BTech because I give jee mains exam and after that jee advance and I crackey the exam . After that for admission I part in jossa counselling where I fill all college where I want to go where I got IIT Mandi .

City k thoda pass hona chahiye tha saman mehnga milta h vha

Admission:

First of all there is not city life .only mountain is all around of us so you to live your four years with the mountain and you can go mandi or other places only at vacation or at weekend.so think about it if you like city life.for admission you have to clear jee mains and advance.

Faculty members at IIT Mandi are highly qualified and experienced focus on theory and practical learning both.
IIT Mandi has good connections with other IITs. Placement cell of IIT Mandi helps to the students for placement and internships.
IIT Mandi refers quality education, excellent infrastructure, best hostel and campus facilities like health center, indoor-outdoor games, playground, library, etc.

Dislikes

Things are expensive in IIT Mandi, mess food is not so good.
Academics is strict, there is 80% attendence is compulsory in every subject or course.
There is not the industry area near about IIT Mandi and girls to boys ratio is 1:4.

Admission:

I applied to several other IITs( IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi etc.) , NITs and other prestigious institutes.I chose IIT Mandi because of its beautiful location and focus on research. The smaller class sizes and personalized attention from faculty were also major factors. No, I did't get rejection from other colleges. Complelety process of admission is through josaa and i got IITMandi CSE at the end of counselling after considering my jee advance rank. The admission process is through the jee advanced. Student must get 75% in 12th standard if he/she belongs to gen/obc category otherwise get 65%.The overall admission experience is competitive but fair and the results are usually declared on time.

The institute's location ins a remote are can sometime pose challenges in terms of accessibility and connectivity , especially for students who prefer a more urban environment.
while the campus is beautiful, it man lack certain amenities and facilities that are common in larger urban campuses.
The hilly terrain can lead to extreme weather conditions, which may affect outdoor activities and campus life during certain seasons

Admission:

I chose IIT MANDI for its unique location, strong academic programs , and emphasis on research. While I also applied to other IITs computer science but more facus on IIT MANDI because I found it best among second generation IITs.

The best part about this college is connection witb nature
Good connections with alumni being an iit
Focus on innovation, along with the support of catalyst, the incubation center

Not good placements stat wise, could be better
80% attendance rule is there, which is not good
The management is not very good in terms of understanding students

As going to iit was my dream I chose this college because considering my rank, I could get branch like civil engg in first gen iits, and computer science at third gen iits Thus is was the best option for me, with a decent college and good branch

The campus is situated in the Himalayas which has its own merits. Natural Beauty with unpolluted air.
The weather here is quite nice, you will find yourself in state of aw after seeing through window after rain, clouds stuck amidst the big mountains.
If you are from circuital branch then you have better chances of getting good placement as mostly all companies allow all the circuital branches.

Dislikes

The academic section is slow and work like normal government office. Most rules for academics are not in favor of students. They require amendments especially in cases of approval after getting internship.
Hostel facilities are worst where the college don't have enough of infrastructure and admitting large no. of students as herds. In a room where only 1 people can fit have been provided to 2 students. Similarly 4 students are forced in room of 3.
Transport facilities are worse where if you have to attend class in north campus and you have to go from south then there are 80 % chances that bus will fill and you will miss the class. On special permission few busses have been added.

Admission:

Honestly I initially thought of branch change and college in some what cold place which led me to this college. Our college is moderate in comparison to other iits, obviously you cant compare it with old iits , but yeah its decent enough, having good students and friends. Placement of four college is better than other iits. Some years result in placement ogf good no. of students whereas some leads to okish. The sport facilities are ok. Swimming pool is not of olympic size and it requires lot of time for repair of the sport equipments. Admission process is through Jossa counselling after JEE Advanced. I applied for VIT, NIT BHOPAL, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Jammu, IIT BHU, IIT Ropar, NIT Durgapur, and many of the IITS and NITS. I choose only this so, didn't fill for confirmation for others. No I hadn't got rejection. Eligibility of my college is JEE Advanced cutoff abnd min 75 % in 12th.

Brief Overview over my life at IIT Mandi

Likes

Sports grounds are of decent size and with excellent weather it's fun to play in them
Classrooms are very nicely built, though now the space is less, so the newer ones are being made is a hurry
Their are a lot spots near here to visit in 2-3 days break.

Dislikes

Some professors are very strict and don't want to listen to students
The administration is making decisions without asking students anything.
The batch strength is being increased without proper hostel arrengements

Admission:

I chose this college cause I was able to get electrical branch over here, plus there was a quite a good chance for branch change in my time. It's closed now. Also there a lot of spots to travel to nearby. You can only enter through Advanced though there are now courses for MBA also.

The Honest Review Of IIT Mandi

That's a new IIT so infrastructure is very good . It is better as compared to old IIT
It present in Himachal Pradesh so campus is very beautiful as it is in mountains.
Robotics environment is very good , I can say it is better than some tier 2 collges

Dislikes

Campus is located far from main airport city chandigarh , so it is hard to travel there
Campus is small I think as it is 2nd generation IIT so it is in construction phase
In Rainy season it is difficult to travel the nearest city due to flood and landslide situations .

Admission:

The admission process was through Jee Advanced exam held for qualified candidates of Jee main exam . Overall admission process was good , I didn't find any difficulties in it . The eligibility for the course is that you should have qualified jee advanced exam , come under the required rank for college . The admission details can be done through Jossa site . The exam are held in 2 month frequency midsem and end sem respectively . A semester is of 4-4.5 months then we got the semester breaks . In improvement of admission process incan tell that website should be responsive of Jossa , as it hangs whenn many people comes together in it for result of counselling process . Also it should also contain information about the collges with their facilities they provide and the counselling process should be little bit faster.

The study pressure is not too much like other IIT's.
Availability of buses at proper time for travel between North amd South campuses and even to Mandi.
Seniors are friendly and provide proper guidance to newcomers.

Dislikes

The quality of food in mess and canteen is a bit average.

Admission:

For IIT Mandi, the admission process it quite simole. You need to apply via Josaa counselling. If your applicagion is considered, you will be given a personal institute email id and will be given all the necessary details. You will also be given mentors to help you out.

A *developing* infrastructure, which cannot be compared to the present facilities at the old IITs. IIT Mandi is 15 kms away from the main Mandi city, so you get that Dominoz, and partying, and all that stuff at a stake of travelling 45minutes on bus
