All of the options you've mentioned are reputable institutions with strong programs in their respective fields. However, the best choice for you will depend on your individual interests, goals, and priorities. The branches CSE, Electronics, and MNC(Math and Computing) offer better job opportunities with higher packages in comparison to other branches. Thus if you are in desperate need of a job, these branches will serve you best. Mechanical Engineering is a branch best suited for those targeting a government job. This branch too has decent job opportunities considering the fact that India sets up more manufacturing sectors under Make in India initiative. Engineering Physics is a core branch that has little to offer in terms of exposure and opportunities. I won’t suggest you go for this unless you are extremely passionate about Physics. You can take it if you are planning a branch change if you want to clear UPSC CSE. Lastly, my suggestion would be to target top NITs instead and not go for a mediocre branch. Additionally, you may want to reach out to current students or alumni of each institution to get a sense of their experiences.

So, the management of IIT Mandi is not very efficient.The teaching method is not effective, as you can't fully depend on their classes or slides.For job or GATE preparation, or any other exams after B.Tech, you can't rely on their class notes.The hostels are similar to other IITs, but second-year students dont get single rooms. In fact, their rooms are smaller than those of first-year students.The labs are not well-equipped, as they dont have the required number of licenses for the software needed during practicals.There is a lack of important advanced courses required by companies, especially in core branches, which is a major drawback of IIT Mandi.

IIT Mandu hostels are new and the authorities has kept in good condition. Every hostel has common rooms, induction cookers for light cooking, and plenty of space to study. The food served in the mess is mostly checked often based on what students say. Sometimes, mess also have special meals with different themes or dishes that students request. A group called the Mandi Mess Council, made up of students, helps make real decisions about the mess.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The tuition fee depends on the category- general, sc obc, st. The hostel and mess fee together are of minimal cost around 24000. For the tuition fee, there are various scholarships to help the students. Some of them are the merit cum means for gen/obs, Kotak kanya for first-year girls etc. You can also opt to become a teaching assistant in any course, you will be provided the stipend too.

Campus Life at IIT

The total fee for the whole semester is 1,57,000. The opportunities of scholarship are also there. Our college's dean students used to send us the details of so many scholarship which are applicable there.
