SOM IIT Mandi: Courses, Admission 2024, Placement

IIT Mandi MBA established in 2010, is one of the top ranked IIT with 33rd rank by NIRF 2023 for the engineering category. IIT Mandi launched its first MBA program in 2022 and is being opted by a lot of students because of its academic excellence. The program was introduced to help students learn to transform data into better business decisions, and help them identify areas of business where Data Science, Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning can add value. 

SOM IIT Mandi admissions are based on CAT, followed by a Personal Interview. The intake for the MBA DS&AI is around 31 to 47 students. IIT Mandi MBA CAT cutoff is around 80 percentile. SOM IIT Mandi MBA fees is INR 10.21 lakhs. The first placement of the institute will be conducted in 2024 and the institute is concluding its summer Internship placements for the 2024 batch and till now the highest stipend stood at INR 50K and the average stipend offered was at INR 22K.

SOM IIT Mandi offers an MBA in DS&AI with an intake of around 31 to 47 students based on the intake of previous years. The candidates who have a Bachelor’s degree with 60% aggregate are eligible to apply.

The candidates who have completed their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) / any of the top 100 institutes according to NIRF ranking 2022 or 2023 are exempted from the CAT exam. “For the guys, there are two hostels – B-14 and B-26. B-14 is a stone's throw away from the School building, making it a breeze to get to classes in just a minute or two. The rooms there are shared. On the other hand, B-26 is a bit farther, about 200 meters, but the trade-off is you get your own apartment with a personal bathroom. Sometimes you'll have just one roommate, and other times, it could be up to four.

IIT Mandi is ranked 33 by NIRF Ranking 2023 for the engineering category but has not yet ranked for the management category. It has also been ranked 12th by India Today in 2022 for the overall category.
