Panjab University Chandigarh Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The students can sit for placements in their final year of course. The tricity based companies come for campus placements for jobs that need strong communication skills and basic knowledge of their domain. The maximum package that was offered goes up to 5 LPA, and the average packages are lower than this arounf 3 LPA. I wanted to go for Post Graduation so did not opt for campus placement.

The course curriculum is relevant and fairly comprehensive. Well defined syllabus with core subjects included. Balanced focus on theory and academic learning. Suitable for students aiming for higher studies. The curriculum prepares students well for post graduate studies and entrance exam.exposure to practical and industry oriented applications is limited. AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT- Inclusion of skill based and industry relevant modules. Greater use of interactive teaching methods. More guest lectures and workshops. Exams are conducted semester wise with internal assessments. Moderate difficulty. Questions are syllabus based and predictable

Around 80-90% of the students get placed in my course. The average package is 3LPA - 5LPA. This college has a decent placement record. The highest package offered is 7.6LPA. Companies like Google , Deloitte , Amazon , Infosys , Wipro , etc. come to the campus to pick excellent students for their company. The college also has a dedicated placement cell which helps the students to prepare for placements.

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

All subjects are motivating for me in career and i used it in my practical life so this thing attracted me and improvements can ne like start giving real life examples so that its easy for students to relate to practical life.

The curriculum of b.com is quite decent, it's neither too different not too easy but you can manage it along with your University life , the exams are held twice in a year and level of exam is quite decent.

I really like the course as the couse has alot to learn in order to get into the accounts finance and businss world. Hence i opted for it. The suggestion could be to make the coirse more updated as per the technology advancements.

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

I chose the course B.Com (hons in finance and accounting). Look teachers will reach you the syllabus bit the rest you have to cover your all. For that library and computer facilities would be given to you. The library contains a lot of books which you can refer for extra material.

1.Well I had an interest in accountancy and economics from my +2.So i decided to do bcom hons as there were some interesting subjects related to my interests. 2.I will be honest.It won't prepare you for real world applications unless you have done internships. 3.It depends on punjab University to prepare course curriculum as per industrial needs. 4.Exams are held quarterly mostly.If you have opted honors let me tell you clear in one go.You will not get second chance.
