My honest review of DAV COLLEGE ,10 Chandigarh :“ Academics, campus & life”

The course curriculum is relevant and fairly comprehensive. Well defined syllabus with core subjects included. Balanced focus on theory and academic learning. Suitable for students aiming for higher studies. The curriculum prepares students well for post graduate studies and entrance exam.exposure to practical and industry oriented applications is limited. AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT- Inclusion of skill based and industry relevant modules. Greater use of interactive teaching methods. More guest lectures and workshops. Exams are conducted semester wise with internal assessments. Moderate difficulty. Questions are syllabus based and predictable

DAV COLLEGE SECTOR 10 chandigarh Year wise fees paid by me - 35000 + examination fees - 3380 This fees structure remains the same through the years with minor changes only as decided by punjab university For a 3 year course approx 1.15-1.20 lakh There is no sharp or sudden fee hike. Affordable education . Good scholarship support

My overall experience is positive and engaging especially in terms of social interaction and extra curricular environment. The college organises annual cultural activities Fest featuring music , dance , drama and literary competitions. Seminars, workshops, debates and competitions organised through academinc year College library:- Well stocked and easily accessible. Range of text books, reference books and journals. Seating space for self study. Sufficient for exam preparation and academic research. Classrooms :- Spacious Basic and functional Projectors and smart reading tools SPORTS AND EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:- Facilities for indoor and outdoor sports Inter college competitions NCC NSS programs Competitions developing confidence CLUBS , societies and students groups:- Cultural and literary societies Debate and drama clubs NCC AND NSS units Students groups like SOI HSA INSO HIMSU parties for elections of president, vice president etc.

I applied to PGGC11 . I initially got admsiion INTO PGGC 11 but by that time I had already secured admission into DAV COLLEGE I. Since the offer from PGGC 11 came later, I decided to continue with DAV COLLEGE. BETTER BECAUSE- Better overall environment Active student life with regular events Good teaching quality Convenient location and familiarity I did not face any rejections from any college. DAV COLLEGE admission process Merit based > Based on qualifying examination marks as per Punjab university guidelines > Cutoffs depend on course and category > Smooth and well organised process. Overall I am satisfied with my decision to join DAV COLLEGE, Chandigarh

The faculty to student ratio is decent with appropriate number of teachers for most subjects. Sumit sir accounts teacher- the best teacher, good and experienced There are MST mid semester exams and semester exams+ internal assessment and assignments . Easy to clear if classess are attened regularly .very few students if they fail regularly. The course curriculum is relevant and well structured according to PU. Strong academic base Fair examination system Good academic environment

The nightlife around DAV COLLEGE SECTOR 10 Chandigarh is student friendly. College is located in prime sector. student usually unwind through cafes , food joints and casual hangouts instead of late night clubbing. College campus - Open during college hours Library closed after academic hours Cafeteria and canteen available Gym accessible Parks and gardens available in campus A full market area behind the college.at walking distance. The area is generally safe, well lit and regularly patrolled . Helps students relax , socialize and de stress .
