Mostly teachers are professor there and doctors they are really supportive i still remember dr taneja sir how friendly he's with students and the way he taught us was amazing teaching things with practical examples is amazing
The crowd of dav college is really very great so the vibe of the college is really amazing
You can also join for ncc and nss. and it can be beneficial during post graduate admissions.

Dislikes

No placement no internship no guidance was provided by teachers
In brutal summer there is need for air conditioners.
Classrooms are too suffocating and it becomes worse in summers

Dav college 2025 real review

Likes

It’s good it you want leverage with attendance. They are lenient in that point .
If you want to enjoy freeness and bunk lectures then also it’s not really strict.

Dislikes

Bad canteen , smelly food , internet doesnt work in canteen
More than half of the kids sit around the campus free canteen is fully occupied with students sitting free bunking
Bad infrastructure. Fans dont work properly. Benches have nails sticking out of them .

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

DAV College Chandigarh – Strong Academics, Good Location, and Engaging Campus Life

Likes

The college has experienced and supportive faculty who explain concepts well and are approachable for doubts
The campus environment is disciplined and safe, with good academic culture and regular events for student engagement.

Dislikes

Computer labs are functional but not very well-equipped with the latest hardware and software, which sometimes affects practical learning.
Fees have been increasing every year, which can be a concern for some students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BCA curriculum at DAV College follows Panjab University’s syllabus, which was one of the reasons I chose this course, as it covers core computer science subjects along with practical lab work. It provides a good foundation in programming, databases, and networking, preparing students for both higher studies like MCA/MBA and entry-level IT jobs. However, the syllabus is slightly outdated and could be improved by adding more industry-relevant topics like cloud computing, AI/ML, and modern web frameworks. Exams are conducted every semester, with internal assessments and practicals in between. The difficulty level is moderate, and regular preparation makes them manageable.

Beyond the classroom:A real look into DAV College life

Likes

I liked the classrooms are very clean and comfortable for class
I liked the campus of college is decorated with flower pots and different paintings
I liked the auditorium of the college which is so big

Dislikes

I didn’t liked the washroom of college they aren’t clean
I don’t like the entrance of college main gate
Unnecessory activities like dancing and all that are conducted by college on regular basis

Placement Experience:

DAV College does not offer strong campus placements for pure science courses like B.Sc. Biotechnology, The college has an active placement cell. In the science field, placements are rare unless you're in job-oriented programs

Truth of the college

Likes

There have lots of society students can join any of them if they are interested.
They doing sports day once in a year in which student can participate and they provide prize to the winnersand they
With the help of winner college party the doing karvan for students in students are performing the show fir the students and also they hai different type of activities for students

Dislikes

There was sitting area for students in summers.
Lots of outsiders come in the college but security can't stop them
The don't provide any services for disabled students

They don't provide any guidance to guide how to choose course students party help the students for admission perspective . Some Teacher of this college said students to not attend the classes they automatically mark the attendance

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Likes

it provides vibrant environment, people from different states and culture are accepted here. it has 2 canteens , 1 Nescafe and 1 juice bar.
No ragging is there in college campus and the it provides various sports activities like cricket , basketball ,volleyball ,badminton and shooting.
It has various college clubs and societies for extra- curricular and student interaction. teachers are also involved in these clubs and they are very helpful.

Dislikes

Not much active training and placement cell. No internship opportunities given and teaching is based upon old textbook method and no real life industrial experience is provided.
students are not willing to attend classes much and most of the students are found in canteen or outside college in their cars,
Elections are given more importance than studies and these elections spoil the environment of the college.

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

Likes

I liked the events they host time to time .
I like some teachers,they have really broad knowledge of their subjects and love to teach students
You can engage with people and you can get some quality of interactions.

Dislikes

The college size is small. In exams when alot of students come .it is a total mess.
The management is not that good .they assign the basic to basic maintaince of college to the college party.which is a little funny but ,it is not good for the college.
Some teachers are not that good ,they get really angry sometimes

I chose BA because I thought I was the easiest means it was for me.teaching methods are good .I like how they teach .it just gets in your mind.the curriculum does not prepare us for real world.the exams comes really fast it feels they do alot of holidays.

The teachers are mostly nice people and are smart and well educated in their own fields
Attendance is not really an issue as the fine amount is too low to amount for anything
The area the college is situated in is really nice

Dislikes

The campus is really small So it might break your having a good campus dream
The fees structure is bit on the expensive side
There isnt really any social life as there are only 50 students in a class

The course saves us 1 year of college because of the integrations of b.ed for anyone who wants to persue teaching as a career in the future, The curriculum is good enough to prepare u for the real world The course can be a bit exhausting because you have to study basically two courses at once The exams difficultly level is mostly on the easy side and and the frequency of exams is 4 exams per year 2 finals and 2 MSTs

Overall good but can be more better

Likes

Teachers are very supportive and knowledgeable.
Library is full of books and fully air conditioned.
There's a seperate reading hall in the library.

Dislikes

Windows are broken of many classes difficult to study in winters.
The nails and screws of benches came out and teared jeans of many students.
Benches are in a very poor condition and dirty too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Teachers are best and their teaching skills are the best I have given all the stars because of teachers otherwise I would have given 0 stars if it was possible. The best teachers I got in my college life . Respect for the teachers.

Best campus location…Provides best placement and internships…cleanliness is there…provides good communication skills…
Canteen food…hygiene and well behaviour of everyone in college
There are no ragging scenes…faculty is best and provides help also

the truth!

i like how there is not much charge for attendence
friends i made, i like them greatful for them
they have added a pad machine( sometimes doesn't work)

Dislikes

faculties, they are so irresponsible everytime
the whole college or even university couldn't care less
doens't even have proper water management

they always postpone the exams , but the they never postpone the breaks , also we have continued classes from 10-4 sometimes 9-5 , in which we are not allowed any break, we have talked about this issue, no return

DAV College Chandigarh has a huge campus. It includes a playground and 3-4 little gardens. The college is situated at the center of the city and everything is nearby. You can get all the basic amenities on campus as well. There are two canteens, two Nescafes, a juice center, a stationery shop, a print shop, a salon, and laundry.

The faculties are well-experienced. Some of the faculty members are quite friendly and cooperative. The college has a three-story library. It has a good collection of books.

DAV College has many clubs and societies like Literary society, Economic Society, NSS, etc. The college organizes events like Karvaan, and Star nights annually.

Election times are the worst. There are many fights and unnecessary chaos on campus. The college isn’t strict regarding its attendance rule and you can get away with not attending classes. Faculties sometimes don’t attend the classes and as a result, the students suffer. These are some of the disadvantages that you may have to face on campus.

Yes, you are eligible for admission to DAV College as the eligibility criteria for admission to Undergraduate course is Passed 10+2 with 50% marks from recognized board of education.
