Learning and Growth at PGGC-11

I opted this course in my graduation because i had interest in commerce and wanted to have more knowledge on different topics like accounting, finance, economics and management related topics. The curriculum gives you knowledge about the concept and their real world application. One thing that could be improved is having some real outside exposure occuring apart from classrooms.

The students can sit for placements in their final year of course. The tricity based companies come for campus placements for jobs that need strong communication skills and basic knowledge of their domain. The maximum package that was offered goes up to 5 LPA, and the average packages are lower than this arounf 3 LPA. I wanted to go for Post Graduation so did not opt for campus placement.

The semester fees was roughly Rs. 11000, so that makes an yearly amount to Rs. 22000. This fees includes the tuition fees, registration fees, development fees, lab fees and few of the other charges. The admission and registartion fees is paid through online counselling which is just one time fee. Fees for the students that belong to any of the reserved categories is comparatively low. Apart from this therr are few government scholarship also available and financial aid is provided to those students who are eligible under the economically weaker section.

The college organises event like the freshers as well as farewell. Apart from this there is also inter department sports meet. It has a big library which has vast number of books available from academics to history and many more. The classrooms have blackboard, smartboard and other basic audio-visual aids. It has NCC Units and other societies also running in the college.

I applied to a few other colleges of Panjab University also that offered commerce courses and i got selected in all of those. But i finally confirmed my admission at PGGC-11. I chose this college because of its reasonable fees, prestige campus and helpful academic atmosphere. The admissions happen through online counselling conducted after class 12. The eligibilty critieria is to complete class 12 with decent marks and no separate entrance exams was required.

There is a good ratio of faculty to students, ensuring proper interaction. Teaches are easily accessible whenever help is requirerd for either academic queries or other assistance. Many of the professors were highy qualified and i enjoyed all those teachers concentrated in concepts and practical output. The course has a semster pattern where exams are held once in each semester known as final semester examination and also few mid term examination for internals.

The college has a very well maintained gym, a big library and cafeteria area also that function throughout the college timings. The hostel and campus timings are strict that is maintained for safety of students. There are many hangout spots in the college including the Nescafe, playgroung, small park, and outside also nearby markets are located. The overall locality is safe even at night.
