Course Curriculum Overview

5

I decided to go for this course because of my interest in poetry and classic novel, we need to crack the entrance exam for this course, and in total we are supposed to attend 4 classes, 5 times a week, mon to fri

Internships Opportunities

4

I am not very aware of the intership facilities but I am sure that in placement cell, intership facilities must be provided, but according to me that would be for the students for Computer science, bcom and bca, they could be for others as well, but I am not very sure of it, intership and placements are usually provided at the end of the year and not before that, and maybe 30k to 40k per month pay will be given to them

Placement Experience

3

There is a placement cell but I do not have much information about it, as my course does not offer any placements, but there are other courses such as BCA, BCom and BSc CS which offers placement, according to me it must be around 30k to 40k per month

Fees and Financial Aid

I am pursuing my masters in english, we have to pay fees according to our semester, in all the semester we are supposed to pay 12500, so that means around 25000 for one month, and 50000 for whole course, which is quite affordable

Campus Life

5

Overall, I love the campus life, crowd is really nice and friendly, seniors are helpful and humble, everybody knows eachother which makes it more fun to interact, and there is always something going on in the campus, from fun educational activities to cultural events, sports competitios are also organised every year, which takes place between departments, inter department basketball or football competitions which are genuinely so fun to watch and even play

Hostel Facilities

5

There are two hostels inside the campus, one for boys and one for girls and two hostels outside the campus, one for boys and one for girls, outside hostels are also very near to the college, only at a walking distance, they charge around 7k to 12k depending on which hostel you are staying for one year, and charge 3k per month for food, food is eatable, not very delicious but it's fine, washrooms and toilets stays clean, mess, common room, gym, library, these are the facilities provided inside the hostel campus, other than that in girls hostels there is salon/beauty parlour and a boutique for girls, 2 students stays in one room, and medical room is there, a full time warden stays inside the all hostels with students

Admission

I applied for Delhi University and Panjab University as well, unfortunately I was not selected in DU but I got my name in 1st merit list for PU, but I was not selected for hostel merit list, so my other option was this college, syllabus is also similar to PU and faculty is also well experienced, so it's not very much different from PU

Faculty

5

Faculty of english department is well educated and well spoken, they all teach in a good manner and are approachable they also provide notes and other material required, exams are held twice in a year acc to semester, managed by Panjab University, level of exams are medium, neither too hard nor too easy.

Night Life

5

There is one main cafeteria which we call canteen, food there is affordable and usually canteen stays clean, self service based, and there are so many options for food, then there is Nescafe booth, for food and coffees, which is also affordable and provides snacks and coffees to stay awake during lectures, there is verka booth, which provides dairy products, good for the health of students, then there is juice corner to enjoy refreshing drinks, and there is a food stall for fast food, such momo, cheese rolls, corn, and then at last there is another small stall of kulchas, there are 2 hostels in total inside the campus, one for girls and another for boys, and 2 hostels outside the campus, 1 for boys and another for boys, timings for girls are 10 am to 6 pm and for boys 10 am to 8 pm. Nescafe ground, and canteen ground are good hangout places inside the campus, library is there, of 2 floors with almost every subject book, overall campus provides great facilities for students

Placement Experience:

Numerous companies keep collaborating with the university and many students are placed every year. The minimum value of package is 3.5Lpa and it goes up to 12Lpa depending upon the course and the ability of the students My plan after this degree is to clear the net/jrf because i want to be a professor in my respective subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is lengthy and monotonous. It is time consuming and the semesters are short. Usually a semesters lasts for not more than 4 months we get very little time to prepare for our exams. Also the syllabus needs to be updated and changed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The best thing about this curriculum is that it is non very burdensome for us and easy to navigate through. It is well divided into multiple units making it easier to navigate through. For example - there is this course of key concepts in the very first semester which lays foundation for upcoming all semesters. Similarly in the first semester, we are taught Constitution of India laying the basics very clear . I personally choosed this course due to my interest and it's application in almost every competition exam out there. There can be a little bit improvement regarding the introduction of research methodology courses. Since there are no courses yet, it often cause a problem for students who want to pursue PhD in future. The frequency of exams is fine enough as there is a lot of time for us to adjust in the new semester and enjoy all the curricular and co curricular activities without a constant load of examinations all the time. This is the best thing I find.
