NITP Bihar Ph.D. Eligibility

• Masters degree or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline with at least 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute or university.
• B. Tech/ B.E./B. Arch or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline with at least 8.5 CGPA or 80 percent marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
• A valid GATE/NET/JAM/JEST score is mandatory.
• One must have cleared the qualifying exam in a single attempt.
• Relaxation of 5% will be provided to candidates belonging to the SC/ ST/PwD categories.
• The sponsored candidates will be exempted from the GATE/ NET qualification.

NITP Bihar Ph.D. Selection Criteria

Admission to the Ph.D. program is done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam. 

For the purpose of final selection, candidates must appear for the Screening Test followed by an Interview conducted by the respective Admission Committee.

The candidates are required to submit the following self-verified documents at the time of interview:

• Downloaded Application form along with the fee slip
• Photocopy of High School Certificate
• Photocopies of all Mark sheets
• Certificate of sponsorship in the prescribed format
• A photocopy of GATE/NET or equivalent scorecard (if applicable)
• A photocopy of the certificate of Caste (if applicable)

How to Apply for NITP Ph.D.?

All candidates are advised to apply only through online on NIT Patna website- http://www.nitp.ac.in 

• Application fees must be paid online through the Institute website only.
• After submission of the online application, the applicant should download the printed application for future reference.
• The application fee is of INR. 1500/- for General/OBC/Sponsored category and INR. 750/- for SC/ ST/ PWD.
• Applicants from SC/ ST/ PwD category must enclose a Certificate issued by competent authority to claim relaxation in application Fee.
