NIT Patna Faculties : Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 483 Reviews

NIT Patna boasts a highly qualified faculty, with most professors holding PhDs from prestigious institutions like IITs and foreign universities. The faculty is characterized by their expertise in various fields, with approximately 25-26 professors in the ECE department alone. The faculty-to-student ratio ranges from 1:4 to 1:70, depending on the department, ensuring personalized attention. Faculty members are approachable, supportive, and dedicated to student success, offering guidance on placements and projects.

While the overall quality of teaching is commendable, some new entrants may not meet the national institute standards, and language proficiency can be a challenge for a few. The professors are engaged in research, with many publications, and encourage student involvement in research. Despite some variability in teaching methods, the faculty is generally experienced, cooperative, and motivates students to excel academically.

The faculty to student ratio is dissent like And there is 1 faculty over 50 students The faculty to student relationship is good and faculty answer to all of the question and help the students very much Saran Sir is the best faculty I liked because he told the concept in the very right manner and gives us problems to soul he gives good grades in the exam also Also Kavinder Sir. There is not any specific teacher I want to mention that I dislike Because old teachers are good here they thought of our futures and very Experienced Personality In one semester that is 6 month there are two exams that is midsem and and sem And two class test Have to be taken These are not that much easy but you can easily clear if you study One week before the exam

Like if I talk about to student-to-faculty ratio, there is 1 faculty over 70 students, if I talk about lab. In 15 students lab there are 3 lab assistants and one professor. Mr Sharan Sir is the best faculty I liked him beacuse he taught me Basic Electrical Engineering in 1st sem in a very intresting manner. Until now, i cant forget his taught concepts. He is a gem for me. Mr. Kavindra sir, he is the faculty I did not like about him is the thing that he always taught us from his phone without giving us any example. Like he want us to make us a parrot without any critical thinking. He taught us Electronics Engineering. There are MID SEM and END SEM in one semester, rather than this, there are two class tests of 5-5 marks. Mid sem is quite easy to pass, like only 3 4 hours of study can pass you, but for the end sem, you have to be prepared from the very last week of the examination. The course curriculum is very relevant. Real-life engineering problems are taught in the cource.

marking is usually relative grading rather than absolute, which is fair but sometimes tough if the bactch average is very high . weightage is typically 30-40% for mid and 40-50% for end sem and the rest for quizzes and assignments.

Some faculty members are good and kind. His teaching styles are awesome. But some faculty members are very strict and rude. If your Attendance are less than 75 percentage then he debarded you. And you can not participate your semester exam.

Faculty:

Faculty to students ratio vary .but approx it is 70-80 per professor and each professor haveapprox 2-3 teaching assistant ( phd scholar) We don't like the applied physics faculty as he teach us like we know everything and too fast with high level physics while this is not in our mechanical syllabus.also his explanation is not understandable by lot of students There is 2 class test , 1 mid semester exam and 1 end semester exam in one entire semester. Very less students fail the exams . Course curriculum is compact.

Faculty:

The faculty to students ratio is good. Faculties are approachable but they are not understandable. They do not give practical help. Prof. Abhishek Raj sir he taught us Elements of electrical engineering in second semester. He taught us very well. Also he is approachable. Prof. Rishi Kumar Jha sir , he taught us differential equations in second semester and he is superv with his knowledge and understanding experience. There are 2 written exams in a semester. One is mid sem and another is end sem. Mid sem exam contains 30 marks and end sem contains 60 marks. The rest 10 marks is of class tests and assignments. There is external and internal vivas these also contain some marks. The question paper is completely asked from pyqs and teachers notes. They are easy. One can prepare one week before exam very easily. Generally students pass the exams. The fail ratio is very low. I guess the course curriculum is relevant 5 times at a scale of 10 as Chemistry MSC syllabus is added to our chemical engineering course. Which is not good.
