marking is usually relative grading rather than absolute, which is fair but sometimes tough if the bactch average is very high . weightage is typically 30-40% for mid and 40-50% for end sem and the rest for quizzes and assignments.

Some faculty members are good and kind. His teaching styles are awesome. But some faculty members are very strict and rude. If your Attendance are less than 75 percentage then he debarded you. And you can not participate your semester exam.

B.Tech, Mechanical Engineering at NIT Patna in 2025
Faculty to students ratio vary .but approx it is 70-80 per professor and each professor haveapprox 2-3 teaching assistant ( phd scholar)
We don't like the applied physics faculty as he teach us like we know everything and too fast with high level physics while this is not in our mechanical syllabus.also his explanation is not understandable by lot of students
There is 2 class test , 1 mid semester exam and 1 end semester exam in one entire semester.
Very less students fail the exams .
Course curriculum is compact.

B.Tech + M.Tech, Chemical Technology at NIT Patna in 2024
The faculty to students ratio is good. Faculties are approachable but they are not understandable. They do not give practical help.
Prof. Abhishek Raj sir he taught us Elements of electrical engineering in second semester. He taught us very well. Also he is approachable.
Prof. Rishi Kumar Jha sir , he taught us differential equations in second semester and he is superv with his knowledge and understanding experience.
There are 2 written exams in a semester. One is mid sem and another is end sem. Mid sem exam contains 30 marks and end sem contains 60 marks. The rest 10 marks is of class tests and assignments. There is external and internal vivas these also contain some marks.
The question paper is completely asked from pyqs and teachers notes. They are easy. One can prepare one week before exam very easily.
Generally students pass the exams. The fail ratio is very low.
I guess the course curriculum is relevant 5 times at a scale of 10 as Chemistry MSC syllabus is added to our chemical engineering course. Which is not good.
