Which is better, mechanical engineering in IIT Hyderabad or engineering physics at IIT Roorkee?

It is difficult to determine which is better; Mechanical Engineering in IIT Hyderabad or Engineering Physics at IIT Roorkee without knowing what your expectations from the degree are and your personal preferences. Nevertheless, I am here to spill a few facts about EP at IIT Roorkee. Engineering Physics at IIT Roorkee is a multidisciplinary branch, with courses from Physics, Electrical, Electronics, Mathematics, and Chemistry departments. The courses included in the curriculum are quite demanding and can be really challenging for those who have little interest in Science Engineering Physics provided no core placements after completion of the BTech degree. Those who have an interest in a specific field of Physics can pursue research as it has great scope. You can also work as a scientist in DRDO or ISRO. You can also opt for fields like Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, or Quantitative Finance where people with majors in CSE, Applied Maths, and Physics are preferred. Software Engineering roles are also available for EP students although it is challenging to manage the academics along with programming. I would recommend you go for an easier branch that has less workload so that you can focus well on coding and get placed right after BTech in IIT.

Per year, the tuition fee is 2 lakhs (1 laksh per semester). Hostel and mess fees sum up to around 64000 a year. SC and ST category students are exempted from tuition fee. Other compulspry charges included, the total comes to 3.1 lakhs annually. Lot of scholarships are offered to EWS students, SC and ST category students, female students, etc.

The academics are nicely planned with exams evenly spread throughout the semester rather than piling them toward the end of the semester.

Engineering physics in IIT Hyderabad

Segment system of iit Hyderabad that's why not much pressure come on students.

I dislike Many uninteresting course that our department contain.

So , fees is decided in two parts one is Tution fee another is hostel fees . Hostel and mess fees is about 45000-50000 per semester and tution fees is 100000 per semester. Also in all Iit and Nits you get Full tution fees remission below 1 lack income and 2/3rd if you family income is between 1 to 5 lacs. Also there are many scholarship opportunities available. Like yuva unstoppable scholarship, institute meritcum scholorship , ST SC scholorships and more.

Fess is around 1.5lakh per semester and you can avail fee remssion according to parental income less than 5lakh. financial assistance is provided by college kind of interest free loan and scholarships are also given accoding to above discussed criteria and cgpa.

Tuition fee is 2 lakhs. even tough the fees are high, the scholarships are good. we can apply for Teaching Assistants after completion after the 1st year. we can do off-campus scholarships with the help of our seniors, which will also help in our placements .

IIT Hyderabad- The next Gen leader for IITs

The fee structure for Open/OBC students Is 1L tuition fees per semester and 40k hostel fee per sem. SC/ST/EWS students are exempted from tuition fees. There are various scholarships available to EWS students such as the Vidyalaxmi scheme which they can avail. Students can do projects in campus in their core field and would get a stipend too.

Engineering Physics is one of the best choices if you like to pursue Physics.

Scholarships are available to women, financially weak students, and non-general category students. The cost to study is not too much compared to other colleges. Many private companies also offer scholarships to iitians with weak financial backgrounds.
