It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

My First Year in College

Likes

Infrastructure, placements, Hostel, Free Wi-Fi, sports
Various clubs are there you can express your self.
The teacher student coordination is awesome.

Dislikes

Hostel food, 85% attendance, 8-5.15 class

Placement Experience:

Normally the final year students get placements. If there's no on-campus placement then there will be some off-campus placements you can prove your skills to them and can get the job. If you ask me my primary goal is ONGC.

campus was pretty big. surrounded with greenary
foods, people togetherness, different languagge

many things are there which is more as compared to pros
syllabus and academics ciricullum is highly pressurize toward student
attendance are very strict, no big celeb during fests, club management is poor. first you have to gain some skill then get induct

Life of nit rourkela

Likes

The campus is too large and green. 1200 acres of area is covered in the campus
The infrastructure of this colleges is finest one. Its one of the oldest one
Top branches get good placement offer ,even lower branches get good placements.

Dislikes

Sometime the food is not good. Taste of the foods are not up to mark.
85% attendance is mandatory . Which is the worst thing in this college.
The water shortage is sometime visible. The climate although good one

Placement Experience:

From the 6th semester onwards placement can be done. Generally, around 95 % of students get placed. Microsoft, l&t, oracle, Mercedes, etc. Companies came and give placement. Many foreign companies also came and gave offers above 1cr.

Decoding the Campus: NIT Rourkela

Likes

The social life at NITR is commendable as there is a a lot of diversity and versatility here
The beautiful campus of NITR spread over 1200 acres is worth exploring.
The seniors here are very friendly and helpful, and do not discriminate on the basis of region or zone.

Dislikes

The academics and all-round development of students can be encouraged and supported.
The quality of mess food need working upon and can be enhanced.

Placement Experience:

A student becomes eligible for campus placements in their pre-final year. Companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, Deloitte, Barclay's, Amazon, and many more come here every year for placements of students from different departments. The highest package offered is 50LPA and the average package is 13LPA offered in our Institute. The percentage a students getting placed varies from department to department. Not all students opt for placements, some go for higher studies, others prepare for government jobs and some venture out into the world with their startups.

A short note to NITR EE

Likes

The campus quite lucious and green. You get to experience fresh environment without any pollution.
The seniors are very cooperative. Almost no ragging.
There are lots of opportunities to explore.

Dislikes

Food is quite average. Students will miss their hometown.
Winter and summer season are very harsh.
Academics is very hard comparative to other nits

Placement Experience:

Almost 100% placement Average package is about 10lpa. 60% are placed in core. 40% are placed in it/analytics. The placement atmosphere is pretty competitive but rewarding. You can also prepare for any exam you want or opt for higher studies.

The overall campus life is very good and you will enjoy your time here.

Dislikes

As the campus is huge, which is around 1200 acres
And as bikes and other vehicles are not allowed
And Yes, being an engineering college, the gender ration is 6 boys per girl.

Placement Experience:

The college placement of this college is very good as far as I know. Around 300 to 400 companies come to recruit students enrolled in various programs. Above 90% of students of all branches get placed which is exceptional.

Life in nit

Likes

Hostel facility is good . Bathrooms and toilet are well managed.
Campus placement are good when we compare it to private college
Campus is huge and clubs are awesome basically technical clubs.

Dislikes

Mess food is worst you have to adjust. it is very difficult to survive with this food.
Faculty are not good you have to study of your own.
Campus is huge and bikes are not allowed so you have to do cycling

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have an interest in research so I opt for biotechnology because I want to go to for research program in the field of biotechnology. The Faculties are good and they did their Ph.D. or MTech from IITs and foreign universities. They are helpful.

College life at NIT ROURKELA

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester, the students become eligible for campus placement. Near about 1200 companies visited the college this year and near about 2000 offers were made this year. Companies like Oracle, Qualcomm, Intel, Microsoft, Amazon, etc ., and analytics companies like Fractal, Delloite, FirstFuture, etc. And also core companies like Tata Steel, Vedanta, Jindal, JSW, etc. came to college for placement this year.

Nit Rourkela pros and cons

Likes

It is a lush green campus. That too of 1200 acres.
You have a lot of freedom. You can go out of the campus anytime before 11pm and the entry time is before 12pm.
There are a lots of clubs. And maximum are very good

Dislikes

Your absentees will be reflected in you scores. Professors will give you TA marks based on Your attendance.

Placement Experience:

The placements are impressive. You will get companies coming from the 3rd year onwards. In case and circuital branches, you will get confirmed placement. In 2021-22 the Cse branch had an average placement of 21 lakh which is impressive even among nits and iits.

A good college

Likes

A very beautiful infrastructure and a green campus
Inspiring seniors and anti ragging strict policies
A lot of opportunity in all field and a great exposure

Dislikes

Unfriendly behavior of faculty and administration
There is no nearby airports that make transportation difficult
Mess food is not up to mark, there should be improvement

Placement Experience:

A lot of companies visited every year for placement including Google flipkart myntra tcs and many more. placement percentage is above 90 percentage. The average package will be around 15 lakh but the highest reach up to 50 lakh per annum.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
