It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

NITR, a world within itself

Likes

I liked almost everything that NITR had to offer. Everything but the food. I liked the huge, peaceful campus. The diverse group of friends I made. The amazing fests. The hackathons. The club culture.
Seniors are very helpful, they'll help you with any and everything you need. Just be respectful and bam, now you have good seniors.
The view of the mountains around the campus that you get from the hostel terrace is just amazing

Dislikes

The food in general lacked spice. I lost around 16 kgs in the first sem only.
The grading was very hard for some reason. Getting a good CG is actually hard and requires consistent efforts.
The summers are ruthless. Doing anything seems impossible with air conditioning.

Placement Experience:

Placements are pretty good. All the branches perform excellent in that matter. The average is around 20lpa for cs, 17-18 for Circuital branches, 14lpa for my branch i.e Industrial Design and around 11-12 lpa for the rest. The students go for software, consultancy , data analytics and core jobs. Visa, MasterCard, Microsoft... they all visit our campus... 100% of the students get placed. After getting my degree I'm hoping to work as a product designer for a few years and then I'll think about masters.

Campus LIfe in the college is very Good and top class
Infrastructure in the campus is high standards

Dislikes

The 85% attendance policy in the college is bit hectic for most of the students

Students from 7th semesters will be eligible for sittiong in placements and before starting of placement season there will be a dedicated commite formed to help the students during the placement journey there are diffrent types of companies like GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, AMAZON, ...etc from sofware/IT sector and Texas Instruments Qualcom Nivida Samsung Micron from Hardware sector and Deloite Phonepay Visa ,,etc from Analytics sector

awesome college life helping to get exposure in all the required fields.
infrastructure of the college including the hostels is just awesome.
no ragging is allowed and good care is taken on a students mental picture.

very low no. of classes are allowed for 1st sem.

There is really nothing much to do in this city.
smmer time is just too hot here. (40+ temperature)
I didnt like the taste of food anywhere in this city

from the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Renowned companies like Microsoft, Google, Qualcomm, and Mediatek come every year along with companies like Bajaj and Tata and many others. I dont have the exact numbers but the placements percentage is very good here

Life as a NIT student

Likes

I loved the campus, its green and peaceful
The clubs are very engaging and recreational
The fests are very different and enthusiastic.

Dislikes

Food and hygiene, sometimes its not at all maintained
Academic pressure is unreal. You are on a complete marathon every day
The city it is situated in doesn’t have much to do with roaming around without the campus itself

Placement Experience:

I am still in my 2nd year so i have least experience about this things. So I can't tell much about it. But as fas as it concerns, many companies to approach the students by conducting OT's and stuff like that

Placement Experience:

Our campus placement is very good. Very good companies come here. And if I don't get campus placement then I will open my own cement company. Students get prepared in 7th semester. To get placement, students do internship in the fifth semester.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Amazon, Microsoft, Qualcomm etc. and many more companies offer a higher salary job. The highest package was 70 lacs last year. average is 10 lacs. Almost 70% student gets placed. My plan is to do higher studies after my graduation.

The campus here is very green and beautiful.
This college is very close to my home as compared to other Nits.
The placement of the college is very good as compared to other engineering colleges

Dislikes

The facilities are old and are not friendly with student and have poor communications.
The girls to boys ratio is not good. It's 1:5
The college student has made zone groups which consist of their own states student and considers then first for any benefit rather than considering the deserved one.

From 7th semester, we are eligible for placement. Almost all the big tech companies offer jobs here. No of offers depends on the situation as after COVID it has been decreased. Highest package is around 60lakh on campus. Almost every student get the placement if opted.

In 6th semester students get elegible for placements so many companies are visited in our Campus like Qualcomm, HCl, Flipkart, Amazon, Samsung, etc..... and in our Campus the highest package 163 LPA in software team and average package is 24 LPA and have 100% placements and my plan have to get 32 lpa package

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
