It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Pure Veg Mess Facility: Being a pure vegetarian, i am proud to have pure veg food without onion garlic here at NITR.
Rich and Divergent campus life: NITR provides a very rich campus life filled with a lots of fun
College fest: College fests and celebrity nights are one of the golden period in the campus.

Dislikes

High Attendance policy: Our institute follows a 85% attendance policy per semester, which is very rigid to follow.
Shortage of hostel rooms for girls: There is shortage of rooms for girls. There are 7 boys hostels for undergrad students and only 2 girls hostels

Course Curriculum Overview:

Biomedical engineering is a highly emerging field after the recent outburst of covid virus recently. Our curriculum prepares us for the industry-level standards by performing labs and demonstrations on industry-level equipment like ECG, EMG, Electron Microscope, Atomic force microscope, EEG ( brain signal reading ), etc. The teaching method of the professors is very great. Our curriculum is a little outdated and it also needs to consider the advancement the recent technologies like the use of AI and new machine learning algorithms in the biomedical field. There are 2 major exams each semester. One is the mid-semester exam and the other is the end-semester exam. Apart from these, there can be various other class tests and assignments which is completely based on professor-to-professor.

The greenery of the campus which is containing a vast species of flora and fauna
The gender ratio where girls are relatively high in number in comparision to other prominent institutes
Beauty of both academics and hariyali of women inside the campus and vast number of make out spots in the campus

Hygiene in hostel mess food and frequent water issues in the hostel during bathing

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are availabale on campus via interviews which are very limited to highly performing students diring the selection process. Required cgpa is 8.5 to get a decent job opportunity and get forward in the college life properly with a high package

I liked the campus, the clubs, fests and the facilities available in campus

Dislikes

The curriculum, exam setting and gaps between the exams which has been unfair
The food quality which degrades day by day.
The facilities provided in classrooms, the projectors dont work.

Placement Experience:

From the 6th or 7th semester onwards, students become eligible for placements. Google Microsoft Apple Amazon Deloitte BPCL Wipro GAIL BEL have been the top recruiters.The NIT Rourkela CSE average package offered stood at INR 24.07 LPA and the overall highest package offered stood at INR 83.60 LPA. The average package in BTech has been 15.47 LPA. More than 95% of students got placed. After getting the degree ive planned on doing masters in business administration.

nice but fine college

i like the college life over here with lot of student studing here and alumni network is also healthy.
transportation is nice you will all the thing at walking distance.
the demographic of this place is nice with a very pleasant weather.

Dislikes

faculties are not upto the mark and not very helpful.
placement is very poor in this college you need to work alot.
semester are quite short and they take exam very often.

placementt scenario is quite dull if i talk about my branch very less company come to company for core branch recruitment.with highest package 1200000 and lowest 600000.while non core it and cs placement are good.

Activites and events conducted by the clubs across the campus
Sport activities sponsored by the campus conduction intra and inter nit competetions

Placement Experience:

Holds a 100 percent placement rate for 2 consecutive years . Major and minor companies visit the campus via online and offline interactions to filter out the students based on their academic performance and skillsets on a vast range of activities . However competetion is very high among the students to bag the highest salary package possible . Also many of them consider to join Masters in institutions abroad via competetive exams.

A Brief review of NIT Rourkela

Lush Green Campus with an area of more than 800+ acres.
More affordable course fees than some private institutes
Good student communites and good scope to learn new things

Dislikes

85% attendance criteria strict for every student
Administration is very slow in solving student issues.
Fests are not upto the mark consider it as an institute of national importance

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th semester. Many companies such as Microsoft, VISA, Juspay, AWS came to our college. Mostly companies prefer students from circuital branches than from other branches. More than 800+ offers were made. Due to recession the number of offers are less compartively. About 75-80% students are getting placed within college. Some opt for higher studies and some prepare for other exams such UPSC etc. My plan is to get placed after getting my degree

Fests, I enjoy the various fests in the college.
Sports facilities are very good in the campus.
Environment, the campus is really huge and very beautiful.

Dislikes

Attendance there is very much concered about the attendance.
Food the quality of mess food is really poor.

Placement Experience:

From semester students are eligible for placements. Many companies like Amazon,Infosys,Google visits the campus for placements , this year around 230 companies visited our campus around 800 offers are provided for students. Highest package was 55 LPA and average was 20LPA. I want to get placed in a Core company.

Truth Of NIT rourkela.

I really liked College fests a lot when we are in a really bore mood the fests are always there to fill that joy in our lives.
I also like the diversity of the students all the students are from different parts of INDIA and also some International students get into the college through DASA scheme.
I really like the sports facilities provided in the college.

Dislikes

85% attendance , Its really exhausting attendind classes and if we didnt have good percentage of attendance we get a grade back.

Placement Experience:

Campus Placements starts from the 7 semester for Btech students. Companies that have visited ranges from Google,Microsoft,Dell,Infosys and may more this year around 200 + companies have visited with around 700+ offers. Highest package was 85 LPA offered by an HFT and average is around 20LPA. Around 85-90% students gets placed every year and remaining 10% opt for higher studies. My plan is to get a decent salary and appear for UPSC examinations.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
