Remarks

It's a decent college if your plan is to prepare for a higher education opportunity, and if financial affordability is a priority to you. The fee structure is very much feasible and the lax attendance system allows you to easily find the time to indulge in something else. But if engineering is your dream, and you want to study in an environment that fans the flame for a more profound interest in the field then this is not the place for you.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum is pretty much standard. It's a comparative to most modern engineering syllabi. Although, it has been modified a bit to make it more modern and challenging, the difficulty level has been kept standard for an average student.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement opportunities are downright mediocre and the college makes little to no effort for providing internships to students. Only zero to five percent students end up getting internship opportunities through college.

College Events

4

The college isn't very lively in itself but since the campus is home to a large number of courses and departments, events are a common site throughout the semester. Each department conducts two or more annual events. The grandest event of the year, 'Anugoonj' takes place in February, and is collectively organized by all departments. It's a three day event that brings the entire campus together. 'Anugoonj' gets it's fair share of limelight owing to the variety of individual cultural events that it brings, but more so because of the final night of the fest, 'Star Night'. Star Night is a live performance by a renowned musician (like Kailash Kher last year), and witnesses the maximum attendance of all three days.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible, very very feasible. It's a government college and it lives up to it's name in this domain at least. Affordability can be considered the number one speciality of the college. The fee structure is pretty much similar to the NIT's.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Being a state government college, the fee structure is already quite affordable, and there are no scholarship opportunities available, to the best of my knowledge. And though the college doesn't facilitate any loans, an education loan can easily be obtained in the name of the college because of it's reputation and the fact that it's a state a government college.

Campus Life

3.5

There are dedicated societies for extracurricular activities. Not all of the societies are equally active but most of them are functional. The theatre and the dance societies are among the most active societies. Labs are outright poor. The equipment is outdated, outnumbered and in very poor quality. The computers are running expired license software's and the equipment to student ratio is so gross that at times 15 students had to work on a single piece of equipment. The lab incharge professors are usually uninterested to explain the practical aspect of the course which is both ironic and unfortunate since this was an engineering course. Sports facilities are once again mediocre. There is a big enough ground for all sports but there is usually a lack of sports equipment. Teams of various sports practice regularly, and look forward to participating in the annual sports meet that takes place in the campus itself. The annual sports meet invites all the colleges of the university and is quite the event for a sports enthusiast.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network isn't of much help either. This is due to the fact that the interaction between the juniors and seniors was never enough to build connections that would last beyond the college years. And students largely don't feel connected to the college itself. This is the reason most of the students don't feel the responsibility to get back to the college to try to help and guide their juniors.

Admission

GGSIPU conducts it's own entrance exam every year, it's called IPU-CET. I scored a good enough rank in it, under 2500, and got admission in the spot round of their counselling process. Although, with the introduction of the sliding round 3 years ago, getting an admission now would require a rank below 1500.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is sufficiently qualified but don't inspire any enthusiasm or curiosity. The teaching methods are pretty much archaic and students end up bunking more and more classes as the semester goes on. Apart from a few exceptions, teachers rarely create or satisfy the interest that is so inherent to an engineering subject. The overall environment remains dull.

Placement Experience:

The placements are really good for a college like DTU, situated at close proximity to industry hubs like Noida and Gurgaon, Last Season the college placed about 70% of its students with an average of 14 lakhs. and highest of 82.5 lakhs. students from 5th semesters are eligible for Training and placement, with fifth semester getting placed for internships, while 7th semester kids, are eligible to sit for the FTE roles and etc.

Placements are good but not best during 2022 to 2024 current year ,I don't know properly but my seniors said that it is due to recession and also it affects IIT BOMBAY. If Recession will go then it has also good placement opportunities if you are skilled. Because DTU provide all branches in tech company if you are skilled in coding. Approx 100+ companies had came in past years .

Remarks:

I choose computer Science because of my interest in the same. The amount of knowledge dissipated to u is the best thing and also having 2-3 practice lab periods really help you make ready for industry. The college can offer internships to their students which would be of great help. There are no. Of opportunities in terms of events technical and non technical that take place.

The only downside of my college is that the hostels doesn't have enough capacity so only 25% are able to get hostels, others have to live in flat/pgs or commute daily and its located in Rohini so most people have to travel a lot to come to the university. There's nothing good around the campus to go to, nearest attraction is nsp or south campus.
