Course Curriculum Overview

3

In my branch production engineering curriculum is solid formal core manufacturing.i choose it for the industry exposure and it does a good job preparing you for shop floor reality.howeever it needs more focus on modern. Tools like python or sql to stay relevant. Exams are held twice a semester they are moderated tough but manageable if you stay consistent with the routine overall it's a comprehensive course that need a bit more modern technology integration .

Internships Opportunities

5

The internship opportunities at NIT Agartala are quite good, especially for the Production Engineering branch. Many reputed companies visit the campus to offer roles in manufacturing, supply chain, and operations. I completed my professional internship at Tata Motors, which was an incredible experience. My project involved understanding shop-floor operations and assembly line efficiency. Working on real-world manufacturing tasks helped me apply the theoretical concepts I learned in class to actual production problems. Most of these internships come with a decent stipend and provide a clear path toward future employability. Overall, the college does a great job of connecting us with major automotive and energy corporations.

Placement Experience

3

Placements at NIT Agartala are quite decent, especially for core branches. Students usually become eligible from the 7th semester onwards. Major companies like Tata Motors, Reliance, and L&T visit for Production Engineering, along with several IT firms. The average package for our branch stays around 6-8 LPA, while the highest can go up to 15-20 LPA depending on the role. Most students—about 80%get placed. Personally, I’m using the skills I’ve gained to target roles in Product Design or Data Analysis post-degree. The placement cell is active and provides good support for career advancement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of my batch cource at nit Agartala is around 70000-80000 per year for tution. Along with 20000-30000 for other charges like hostel ,mess , registration lab , and development fees. At the time of admission, i paid a one time admission fee and a re fundable caution fee of about 5000-10000 Total course completion is around 4-5 lakh . For sc /st student, tuition fee are waived as per government rules so they only pay hostel and other charges many students also get scholarship like nsp ( national scholarship portal) at state governments scheme

Campus Life

5

Campus life at NIT Agartala is pretty vibrant. Our technical fest, Aayam, and the cultural fest, Moksha, are the big highlights, usually happening around February and March. They really help break the monotony of the 9-to-5 academic schedule. The infrastructure is solid—the library is huge with plenty of journals, and the classrooms are modern and well-equipped. There’s a lot of focus on sports and clubs too, which makes social life active even when you're staying in the hostel. Being part of student-run groups has been a great way to meet people and develop skills outside of just Production Engineering. Overall, it’s a well-rounded experience.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel facilities at my college are decent and very affordable compared to private accommodation. The rooms are equipped with the basics: a bed, a study table, a chair, and a cupboard. The registration process is straightforward and done alongside the college admission. As for the meal quality, it's average. The menu includes a variety of items, with biryani and fried rice being the highlights on certain days, though it can get repetitive. While the taste is simple and feels like homemade food, it's definitely healthy. Overall, living in the hostel is the best way to experience campus life, even with the strict timings. It’s a budget-friendly option that covers all the essential needs of a student

Admission

I chose NIT Agartala primarily because of its reputation as a National Institute of Technology and the specific opportunities within the Production Engineering department. While I looked at other NITs and some private universities, NIT Agartala offered a better balance of ROI and industry recognition. The admission process was smooth, handled entirely through JoSAA/CSAB based on my JEE Main rank. The eligibility required clearing the cutoff and having a good percentage in the 12th boards. Compared to other colleges I applied to, the infrastructure and the core placement track record here were the deciding factors. The overall admission experience was professional and well-organized.

Faculty

3

The faculty in my department is generally very supportive and approachable.the you can easily reach out to profesor for project help or career advice. While most are experts in their field, their teachings styles vary some faculties are focus on thery while some are hands on we have mid term ends term and regular lab assessment the exams are standard for nit challanging but fairid love to see more focus on modern industrial software.moat students pass comfortable as long as they stay consistent with the course work and lab submission .

Night Life

5

The nightlife at my college is mostly centered around the campus and hostels since the city is a bit far. There are strict hostel timings, usually around 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM for entry, but the campus itself feels safe and is well-lit for late-night walks. The cafeterias and student activity center are popular hangout spots to unwind after a long day of classes. The gym and library are well-utilized, though they close by late evening. Outside the campus, there aren't many "nightlife" spots, so most students stick to small eateries nearby or just chill in the common areas. It’s a peaceful environment that helps you focus, though it can feel a bit restrictive if you're used to big-city life.

Every year placements happen and about 80 percent of the total students of the institute get placed in various dream tier and other companies with good packages. The packages depend on year to year, more specifically on hiring trends. I still did not make a decision for my post degree plans.
