Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum has practical subjects and useful topics, which influenced my choice. It prepares me well for real-life work and higher studies. More practical training and interactive teaching can improve it. Exams are regular but sometimes feel difficult and closely scheduled because semester exam gap is less than 6 months hardly 4 months gap is their

Internships Opportunities

5

As I am history hons student so I don't know much about internships and stipend but I know that the internship opportunities and stipend of sbsc bcom students is much better than north campus colleges bcom courses it is much reputed college for internship opportunities

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of shaheed bhagat singh morning college of Delhi University is annually and semester wise exam fees (registration fees) and it is also depends on which for which course you opt for example hons course fees is more than program courses fees and within hons their are differences in fees like Geography hons students have higher fees than political or history hons student .I came in OBC category so I didn't get any concession but I think for sc,st their is concession in fees .SBSC fees increasing every year as I am 2nd year student my fees was 14k something in 1st year but in second year it is 19670 rupees(annual fees) . Examination fees depend on which type of subject you choose in your sec/vac , practical or theory (approx 1100 for one practical and on one theory subject either sec or vac Talking about the scholarship so I am applicable for it but I didn't get any scholarship benefit because I got late information and I think sc/st category get more profit this scholarship program and also obc category

Campus Life

4

Shaheed Bhagat Singh College hosts its annual cultural fest Kalakriti in March–April. There is no technical fest. The library has a good range of books and journals, rated 4.5/5, though the number is limited. Classrooms have projectors and smart boards, with excellent tech in the Geography department, but ACs could improve. Sports and extracurricular activities are varied. Student-run clubs like the Debating Society and Civil Servant Society are very active, enriching campus life.

Admission

I applied for History (Hons) and got confirmed admission in Shaheed Bhagat Singh College under Delhi University. I also preferred Banaras Hindu University, but its cutoff was higher, so I couldn’t make it there. Admission was through CUET. Eligibility was 12th pass with required subjects. Selection was based on CUET score, preference filling, and document verification. The process was smooth and transparent.

Faculty

4

The faculty-to-student ratio is good ,nice .the faculty to student relationship is great and yes they are easily approachable to their facilities Their are 2 semesters in one year .The semesters exams are easy to moderate basically based on the same questions of pyqs.the course curriculum is relevant very much

Night Life

4

Shaheed Bhagat Singh College campus facilities include a gym, cafeterias, library, and public areas, all open from 8?AM to 8?PM. Hostel and campus timings are also 8?AM to 8?PM. Popular hangout spots include the Girls’ Common Room inside the campus and Authority outside. The surrounding locality is generally safe at night, though caution is advised.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
