Remarks

Environment was good before but now maybe a lot of damage done due to the cyclone fani. Campus area should be increased and fees should be decreased. Keep various socities going on and keep conducting workshops.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The teaching faculty is quite nice but some of them don't care about all the students while some take all the students of a section along. Exam conduction is good but there should be a CCTV available in all the college rooms so that a eye on all the classes all the time.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placements seems to be poor as compared to the reputation of a IIIT college. Though it seems to be increasing everytime, but figures matters a lot. College doesnot provides internships which is a great problem. Otherwise it has to give links which it does not.

College Events

4

Advaita is the tech cult fest. It is best we see any time(though rumours are coming that it is cancelled). KREEDA is a sports event consisting various sports evemts. TASVEER is a ethnic day program. Nebulae is a official DJ night after Freshers.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's expensive as compared to other government colleges. Though many facilities are given but it's more than expected. Moreover no scholarships are made to available thus making hard for too many students to get admission.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are no such scholarships availed or known to students as I am too a demander of. The staff doesn't care about the field and not gives information too when queried. No loan facilities are available.

Campus Life

3

Labs are good but not the assistants. They just want to finish all the experiments scheduled. Sports are organised frequently which is the only thing I love. Extracurricular activities are not by the college but students organise it well and enough on their responsibilities.

Hostel Facilities

3

Rooms are quite small but adjustable. Mess gives the worst food one can give. Common room is available with high speed internet connection with electricity and water whole day. Washing machines don't work properly though.

Alumni/Alumna

No information is given till about the alumni and most of the students don't even know what it is. Just some money is deducted from the caution money and many don't know from whose accounts is it being deducted and on what purpose

Admission

I cleared my JEE MAINS exam and received a rank of AIR 36062. Then and there I decided to pursue my further education in IIIT BBSR. I made a payment of 70000 during JOSAA and rest payment during admission through DD at a bank beside the college. I signed into various affidavit then got a slip through which I could get into my hostel.

Faculty

3

Some of them are excellent while some are average. But the best part is that all of them asks for doubt clarification. But the worst is that they stick to only the syllabus. They should help the students for something outside the box.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
