Course Curriculum Overview

I choose the stream of electronics and telecommunication engineering which is a specialised course of ECE and I am very much satisfied with the course as per the demand of it . The frequency and timing of the exam are as expected.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 230000 per year

Internships Opportunities

DE Shaw and Dell offers software developers and pays stipend. The stipend is for 3months and we need to work for 3months in the summer time. The projects are related to app development and some electronics and electrical inventions.

Placement Experience

For the 5th semester the students will become eligible for the campus placements. DE shaw, dell, oracle, Infosys are the different companies. Highest package is 42lpa and average is 10 lpa. Almost 90% students get placements. I want to get placed in a well reputed company.

Fees and Financial Aid

For yearly the fee is around 230000 and we need to pay per semester and per semester it will be 115000.As I am from different region I don't have any advantages for category wise. For all benches the fee will be same. Central scholarships for all region students.

Campus Life

For every year there is a fest called advaita which is a very big fest of the year and is celebrated for 3days. There is a very big library and we have all way access to get the books. There are digital classes provided and board classes as well. We have a Grand Championship which is a very big sports tournament conducted in our college.

Admission

I applied for all top NITs and IIITs as I got qualified for the jee exam and I got different colleges in different rounds which are 6 rounds and I finally chose this one.the cutoff for the exam is 30000 rank .

Faculty

The faculty to to students ratio is 30:300. The faculty is very helpful and friendly, they help in every aspect from studying to get place in a good company, they guide us . There are 7written exams for every semester and 7 mid semester in between which are a bit moderate in level.

Night Life

We have a gym which is free of cost and cafeterias , library in the academic block, public for mingle with friends. 8am to 10pm for hostel. We have campus roads and grounds to hang out. The locality is very peaceful as it is outskirts of the city.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

IN our college the highest placement this year was 23 lakhs froom CSE branch and lowest was 2.5 lakhs and avergae placements were 5-7 lakhs. But very few get selected many of are unemployed or get very low or no offers

Life at NIST

Placement Experience:

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Value For money college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.

IIITB is best!

Placement Experience:

I am in my final year and 80% of my classmates including me are already placed. All top MNCs comes to our campus and currently most students are placed in the ranked of 10-20 LPA of CSE branch and top placement was of 52 LPA.

Placement Experience:

Placement are descent enogh. After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement drive and become eligible for internships in 2nd year itself. Highest paid CTC was 39LPA and average package is around 10 LPA.

Comprehensive Review of Campus life at IIIT Bhubaneswar

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placementfrom the beginning of 7th semester. Major companies that visit include Oracle, Media.net, Tiger Analytics, Incture, Quantiphi, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Informatica and many others. The highest package offered was 24 LPA by Zscaler, while the average package for the electronics branch stands at 6 LPA. This year placements were affected by the recession, resulting in approx 100 students remaining unplaced.

First experience of iiit bhubaneswar

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for internship officially from 3rd yr and for placements 7th semester onwards. Recently oracle has visited and 4-6 gote in there with 26 LPA . Zscalara was also there around 15 LPA . Percentage last year was 80-85 ig. I think I will join as a software developer along with a carrier in photography but let's see what happens.
