- Not just for academics but even for placements our college is best in Orissa.
- Even in infrastructure we have the best facilities which also includes girls hostels
- Self defense is also taught at our college and I am grateful for that.
Dislikes
- Timings are very strict as we have to be back at campus by 7 pm and for boys it's 9 pm.
- Partiality is done with students of Orissa getting more opportunities.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are many aspects but every top student want to pursue CSE. So, I was among top and therefore I took what toppers usually pick. Our course cab easily be called at par with courses of IITs as even our practicals and Hackathons are as grand as Kshitij of IIT Kharagpur. I have witnessed that and can say our tech fest is also similar. Thus, our learning is based on practical experiment.
Placement Experience
Amazon, Google, Wipro, HCL Tech and many such which has been around for a while in the tech business and has built tech for many overseas companies too are the ones which have already started coming. I am in my final year and around 40% students have already been recruited and I hope before this semester ends, i too get placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
IIIT Bhubaneswar is best engineering college of Orissa and the fees to study here is 1 lakhs per semester. Also, the hostel fees yearly is 100000. So total of 3 lakhs and plus some additional expenses and all makes is around 3.5 lakhs a year. Scholarships on merit are available as I am a general category student and I don't qualify for caste based scholarships as otherwise those students get upto 50% scholarships.
Campus Life
Our campus is actually located 30 kilometres from Bhubaneswar and it is in Gothapatna. Our 35 acres campus has every facility like top acadmic blocks, top sports ground, even common areas and washrooms in particular are amazing. I have seen that they are on a verge on clean every now and then. Manthan and Hackfest are tech events or fest organized at our campus and then we have annual fest Advaita.
Hostel Facilities
Our college has 3-4 girls hostel buildings and the kind of facilities that is has is too good and also not just that but the food is also amazing. Building of the hostels are always noisy until warden comes and warna us. Attendance is marked daily around 10 pm and those who are out has to come and sign before entering the rooms.
Admission
I gave JEE to get selected for IITs but that couldn't happen and therefore IIITs were my second option. IIIT Una and IIIT Bhubaneswar, I had confirmation from them and I had second thoughts just considering the location. However, when I compared academics and placements, our college was way better and also one of the best IIITs too, so after a thought I took admission here.
Faculty
Tech world looks like have been conquered by our faculties as they are so tough and hard working for the same. They keep themselves updated and then update us for the same. So, I think we all should admire then for their efforts and even my mates agree to this. Luckily tech studies are one of those where female professors are plenty and out of them my favourite is Mrs Riddhi Ahuja.
Night Life
Since Gothaptna don't have much, we have to travel 20 odd miles for first mall of the city. So that is where we mostly hangout or at our campus we are free to roam till 12 and after that we have to be present at our girls hostel. So, these kind of things keep on happening and we have made our life at campus more happening.
