Likes
- teachers, staff and faculties of both subjects and labs are good and professional.
- there are several societies run by student, all by themselves like cultural society, tech society, etc.
- student together celebrate many cultural events like diwali, holi, etc.
Dislikes
- syllabus and teaching technique is very old fashioned
- campus area is very small, only 26 acre of land can be used
- campus is located in the outskirts of bhubaneswar, far off from the main city
Course Curriculum Overview
my branch is computer engineering (CE). dont get confused it with its name, it is just another fancy name for CSE (just to increase seat number). bookish and exam based syllabus is focused more. market based teaching is not that well provided. technical events are also conducted and many sessions are held regularly
Internships Opportunities
companies like oracle, zscaler, imformatica, etc visit and provide placement and internship. internship is provided with stipend of 30-50 thousands. roles like software engineering, web developer, cloud engineer, cybersecurity analyst, are common. non-IT placement for etc/eee students are very few.
Placement Experience
on compus placement is offered for students in the college. average placement package depends on the branch. the average placement package offered to cse,it ,ce branches ranges between 10-13 LPA, whereas for etc and eee branches it is 7-10 LPA. companies like oracle, dell, tcs visit and hire students. about 250 offers were made for batch of 350 eligibility for on campus placement is from 3rd year
Fees and Financial Aid
(The yearly fee structure varies for each year.) Total fee (including hostel, but excluding mess) for one year: a) 1st year - 2,35,000 b) 2nd year - 2,56,000 c) 3rd year - 2,70,000 d) 4th year - 2,95,000 Total fees comprises of tuition, hostel, others(library,labs,gym,placement assistance,laundry, etc) Tuition fees for each year: a) 1st year - 1,72,000 b) 2nd year - 1,86,000 c) 3rd year - 2,00,000 d) 4th year - 2,16,000 hostel fees for each year: a) 1st year - 20,000 b) 2nd year - 24,000 c) 3rd year - 24,000 d) 4th year - 28,000 all other fees(excluding mess): a) 1st year - 40,000 b) 2nd year - 46,000 c) 3rd year - 46,000 d) 4th year - 50,000 note: the mess fees is not mentioned here. usually the semester duration will be 3-4 months, so total food expenditure will be around 40,000 per year.
Campus Life
.campus life is decent. annual and technical festivals are held in the college. advaita or the college's annual fest is held in the month of march/april. technical festivals like D3, etc are held on regular basis. sports events and competitions are organised twice a year. student run clubs and societies like tech, cultural, etc societies impact a lot on student's life, as they are very friendly and and joyful.
Hostel Facilities
i live in the campus hostel room. there are 7 rooms in each floor and there are 3-8 floors in each block, and there are 8 block. actually there are two types of hostel rooms- 3 member sharing room and personal room. personal rooms are available from 2nd year onwards, and its fees is double than normal rooms. food provided in the mess is mediocre. and provided thrice a day. mess fees is about 120 rupees daily.
Admission
i applied only in the josaa councelling, unlike others who apply to many other private colleges. this was the institute i was alloted through the councelling. government college was on my preference then private ones, mostly due to fee structure and students. there is no interview taken while admission. 50% of seats are reserved for odisha students and other 50% is open to all. cutoff for open category is higher, then state category and other categories like female/sc-st, etc. cutoff order for branches are cse>it>ce>etc>eee
Faculty
faculties are good, but the teaching and syllabus is old fashioned. cgpa is calculated in relative manner, so the scores of your classmates will surely effect yours. exams are held semester wise. each semester has: a) quiz-> total 15 marks b) mid semester exam-> 30 marks c) end semester exam-> 50 marks d) student personality/behaviour marks-> 5 marks. so total marks per subject for a semester is -> 100 marks. paper correction is done strictly.
Interview Experience
there is no interview taken by the institute for admission. students need to participate in the josaa/csab councilling to get allotted into the college. no extra preparation is needed for admission. almost all documentation work is done during the josaa councelling itself
Night Life
college has gym facility with decent instruments. there is a nescafe centre, and a general store too. hostel intime/exit timings are from 6 am to 9:30 pm, but management will allow changes if proper leave application given to them. college is located in the outskirts of city. khandagiri caves, wonderla, dam etc are located nearby.
Other Applied Colleges
International Institute of Information Technology - [IIIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Engineering)
located not so far away from home, decent college with respect to my JEE scores, decent placement
