Course Curriculum Overview
The B.Tech curriculum at KIIT is comprehensively and relevant to current industry needs. The course includes core subjects ,lab work, and projects that helps us build practical and theoretical knowledge. It prepares us for real-world applications and higher studies. Exams are conducted regularly through internal assessments, assignments and end-semester exams, and difficulty level could be said easy to moderate. However, the curriculum could be improved by adding more industry-focused training, internships, and updated technologies to better prepare us for future careers.
Internships Opportunities
KIIT provides internship opportunities for students from 3rd yr onwards. Companies such as Cognizant, Deloitte, HCLTech and Tech Mahindra offer interships in roles like software development, web development, and data analysis. Some internships also provide stipends . Students work on projects such as building web applications, testing software , and analyzing data, which helps them gain practical experience and improve their skills for future placements.
Placement Experience
The placement opportunities at KIIT are quite good, especially for us the CSE students. The eligibility criteria for campus placements starts from 7th semester. Many well-known companies visit the university every year like TATA Consultancy Services , Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and Capgemini. The average package offered is around 6-8 lakhs and highest package offered around per yr avg is 50-60 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placements is around 90% plus in average per yr. After completing my degree, i plan to work in software industry and gain more experience in the field of technology

Campus Life
My overall experience at KIIT has been very positive. The campus infrastructure is modern with well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, and a large library that provides access to many books and journals for academic learning. The university also organizes annual cultural and technical festivals like KIITfest , which usually takes place in February and March. There are many student clubs related to coding, robotics, music, dance, and entrepreneurship where we can develop skills and interests. The campus also provides good sports facilities including cricket , football ,badminton and other indoor games. These activities helps to maintain a good balance between academic and social life.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities at KIIT are well-organized and comfortable for students. The hostel rooms are usually provided with basic facilities such as beds, study tables, chairs, cupboards , and good internet connectivity . The hostels are clean and have proper security, along with wardens to manage student safely. The mess provides regular meals with a fixed menu, and the food quality is generally decent with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available. The hostel registration process is simple and done during the admission process itself , but it was crowdy though. For students staying outside the campus, there are also many PGs and rented rooms available near KIIT road .
Admission
I applied to a few other colleges, but i could not secure good percentile in the JEE Mains, so getting admission into top government college was difficult for me. Because of this, I started looking for good private engineering colleges. Since my native state was Odisha and my parents preferred that i stay within the state, i decided to choose KIIT then. In my opinion it is one of the best university in Odisha for cse with good infrastructure, experienced faculty, and decent placement opportunites. The admission process was quite smooth and mainly focused on entrance exams - KIITEE
Faculty
faculty:student ration is 50:1. however teachers are really supportive . the b help us whenever needeed. we can directly approach teacher. i liked most our coa teacher debashish hati . his teaching clearly make me understand everything. he is the best gfaculty in my opinion. every faulty is good. total 2 exams are there in a semester . internal is of 30 marks .
Night Life
The nightlife around KIIT is quite lively and comfortable for us. The campus has good facilities such as gym , cafeterias , and a library where students often spend time after classes. Generally these areas closing time is around 8-8:30 pm excluding central library whose closing time is 10-11pm . The last entry time for hostel varies for different year students. For 1st yr it's around 7pm , and for 2nd yr it's 8pm and for 3rd & 4th yr it's around 9 pm. The famous hangout place inside college i can say is MBA garden , campus 11 and another one is Rose garden , campus 13.
