its peaceful with less students , and so silent college all student study all the time, wifi is good and teachers are bit good, i like the hostle charages and placement is too good, mostly 100 percent placement in tech only. no ragging in this coll

i hate the food here its totally shit and trash
its in remote area so after 7 you cannot go outside and return on time.

i choose this course because i want to do mtech in elecronics for vlsi deparment so i am increasing my focus in this branch, and i hate coding. 30 permanent faculty 20 guest faculty, 1 teacher for 30 student is the ratio. all the faculty are of minimum mtech qualification from iits while large number of teachers have qualification of phd. Teaching method is generic and old conventional method while some teachers focus on writing notes. exams are on perfect timings 2 papers per day and gaps during end sem. exams are moderate to pass.

Internships Opportunities

dell oracle media.net provide internship as well as many startups. such as drone companies come. students help eachother in this too. amazon interships are also cracked by students here seniors guid juniors too.

from second semester as eligible for internship and 3rd 4th year for placements. oracle, delloite, dell. intel. veritas, incture. tcs 18 lpa in oracle, 30 lpa in oracle, 10 lpa avarage evry company gives that 100 percent placement mtech in iits

Fees and Financial Aid

cost to study is arround 2 lac 50 per year including food and living . there are scholarships but i dont know much about them. there are up state scholarship as well as odisha govt scholarship for lower castes and minorities.

ADVAITA - ANNUAL FEST , IN TECH FEST THERE IS D CUBE FOR PROGRAMMING AND BOTSPARK FOR ROBOTICS THESE ARE CONDUCTED IN FEB, JAN AND AUGUST RESPECTIVELY. IEEE ACCESS , all magazines and course books are available smartboard and benches and plug point at every bench. we have 1 ground 2 basket ball court 4 badminton courts 2 green tennis court 1 gym tars- robotics , programing society gfg and coding ninja club , sparts club, photo and videography club, and vedant samiti.

Hostel Facilities

1 bed 1 godrej thats it if you pay more u get single room with extra spaces n shoe rack and tables in both fans and plugpoint with common bathroom for a hall as well 24x7 wifi access with 1 gbps cheap meals i dont like the food here. the worst Hostles are very cheap 18 k per year .

Admission

eligibility - must have appeared with jee mains, under josaa counselling 92 percentile goes cutoff, where as under OTA counselling (college handles it own) it can go to arround 80 percentile or even low for other caste

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

Life at NIST

Placement Experience:

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Value For money college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.

Placement Experience:

Placement are descent enogh. After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement drive and become eligible for internships in 2nd year itself. Highest paid CTC was 39LPA and average package is around 10 LPA.

Comprehensive Review of Campus life at IIIT Bhubaneswar

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placementfrom the beginning of 7th semester. Major companies that visit include Oracle, Media.net, Tiger Analytics, Incture, Quantiphi, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Informatica and many others. The highest package offered was 24 LPA by Zscaler, while the average package for the electronics branch stands at 6 LPA. This year placements were affected by the recession, resulting in approx 100 students remaining unplaced.
